Marlin party tuna?

I'm having a marlin party event yet no marlin but tuna? Anyone ran into this before?

Two Marlins spawn in the sea. A bigger Marlin is always in the boat.

You sometimes have to swim around to find them but they are there. They are aggressive too so once you find one they are hard to miss. I am fairly sure I have found them in the day so they aren't a night only fish!

The one in the shipwreck interior never spawned and the event ended with me being unable to get one. BTW this is my second time on the marlin event. Is this a bug?

never happened to me, i found marlin and tuna everytime i dive, even after the event end.
sometimes sailfish in shipwreck interior didnt spawn, bit i re-enter again and it spawn.

Its possible as the game is only super recently released and sometimes things don't get discovered til full release. I managed to get the marlin though and actually had lots of plates for the event. The themed food events, they are repeated over the course of the game so marlin will come up again I am sure. When it does make sure to keep your tank full and do a good exploration of the map without engaging anything else, just avoid them. Once you find and nab the marlin, just remember the area where you found it and there should be another one there when you come back for the afternoon dive.

It's just the sailfish I'm not getting. The sailfish just doesn't spawn in the dive at all. I've been going to the shipwreck every dive since the first marlin event and haven't seen it even once. The marlin does spawn though, albeit on one day only one spawned (during event) but caught 4 bluefin tuna and 3 yellowtail tuna on the same dive...

try to re-enter shipwreck interior if it didnt spawn, it works for me.

Honestly, I tried that on the 2nd marlin party run with no luck. on the last day of the party (2nd run) i tried entering and re-entering 3 time with no success. Also the sail fish isn't the only fish not spawning in on my dives...

There's some RNG involved with the Marlins spawning each time you dive. You can save scum it by manually saving prior to diving in.

The Sailfish only spawns inside the Boat, but doesn't always spawn and anywhere from 0-3 regular Marlins can spawn in the 0-50 meter area.

With bad RNG sometimes no Marlins spawn at all.

Wow that just suck for me... @Nokturnal do you know what map formats ornate wrasses spawn in? I haven't seen nor caught on in about 30 in-game days.

I don't memorize the map formats but yea it's just random what fishes spawn each time you dive, your best bet is save scumming. Rain or shine might have something to do with it or perhaps what Month it is has a factor but without enough data I couldn't tell you.

I can tell you that what type of fishes are available in each Region does change when you save scum the same day/time of day.

My marlins only showed up in the morning to the far right of the map. Only one however, never found a second. I swam right to the end of the map then headed down and it wasn't that far down, closer to surface than the first kind of shark I had to fight for the shark head recipe. I never saw one in the afternoons.

Same fight mechanics as a shark, a charge and turn but it's faster, the sniper helped me big time getting them. I recommend clearing the area of littler agro fish otherwise it gets close.
