How to get Giant trevally's fins?

Which weapon and which fish?

I can't put large sharks to sleep, can someone guide me

So a decent amount of Fish, Jellyfish and Sharks, etc have Rare components that can drop from them when you collect their corpses. You don't need to tranq them, any Star quality will do, you can even discard the corpse after collecting it but you need to collect the corpse for the chance of their Rare component to drop. If the rare component spawned from that corpse it'll be in your Dive Inventory.

They're needed for Enhancing guns.

just kill the giant trevally with any weapon and there's a chance for them to drop it
I had to kill 5 of them to get one fin but it depends on your luck really

Giant trevally is that 50-130 meter fish, it is big, slow, blue, a ton of HP.

I played most of the game with this upgrade in mind, farmed the Giant Trevally at the highest quality I could, and only got my third fin after the end of the story. Drop rate seems unnecessarily low, especially since there are multiple weapons that require the item to upgrade.

Not sure if it's this item in particular, or all items of this class...

Drop rate seems very low. Had to kill about 20 for my first 3 fins.

You just have to kill a ton of em. I've slaughtered so many damn cuttlefish. The grind is real in this game
