Controller support?

I cannot get a controller to work for this. I've tried enabling and disabling steam support, adjusting settings, restarting, re-downloading. I'll have to return this and not play. I was really looking forward to playing this tonight and I'm stuck with no options.

You should file a bug report with the devs' help portal with more details about your configuration than just "it's broken please fix." That way there's a much better chance of the devs being able to reproduce your problem.

This was the top result on google, so posting a reply here in case it helps others in the future who may get here with the same "controller not working" problem I had:

SOLUTION: Enable Steam Input.
(Made my Stadia controller start working anyway.)

if anyone still has issues with dualsense or generic controllers not working on steam games there is a app on steam called dsx (dual sense x) and you can use it to make the controler emulate the one you want to i mainly use xbox360 controler emulaton. i do this for older games or games without native dual sense or ds4 compatibility. hope this helps someone haveing this issue in any game. and if u have a dualsense controller you can make the controler use haptics / reactive triggers even in games without support even with it connected by bluetooth.

I'm using a ps4 controller on a mac book pro using windows. It does not work. Actually the arrows are working well but the buttons (X,O, etc) are not responding at all.

I'm having problems with my XBOX gamepad on windows in general, so I have them in this game too. If I alt-tab, the gamepad stops working sometimes. Unplugging and plugging it back in fixes it, but it's tedious and annoying. Still, in my case I don't think it's Dave the Diver.

I just think Windows 11 is hot garbage.

First, can you please try on a normal Mac environment(without Windows emulator)?

In a normal Mac environment,
1) Does this occur with Steam Input enabled?
2) Are you using wired or wireless connection?
3) Do the icon prompts that show up in the game correspond to the PS4 controller?
