How to catch crab without killing it?

We can now get 3 star version of every fish, but I still don't know how to get crabs without killing it with rock.

Is there a solution to this?

From what I've read a fully upgraded net gun Lv3 will do it. I haven't tested this yet though.

I tried that on some crabbys, no luck on my end, perhaps wrong sort of crabs?

I've used the steel net on the jumping crabs and caught them in it, haven't tried it on the giant crabs yet

Did you try Sea People upgraded Net Gun / LVL4, since that uses steel net ?

Thanks for the tip, I tried this on the deep sea stargazers, jumping crabs and spider crabs. It works on all of them.

Finally completed my 3 star collection!!!
