Diving at night
If I go diving at night to catch some nighty fish, wouldn't it affect the sushi bar? Can I go without hesitating?

Thanks in advance :)

The sushi bar isn't open for as long when you do a night dive

Diving at night shortens the time that the restaurant can be open by a third. So when you actually go to open it, you will get roughly a third less customers than you would if you hadn't dived (but got new / more fish and whatever else you collected during the extra dive, as a trade off).

diving at night will not hurt your business, i haven't had anything negative happen for diving at night so far. plus night diving is super fun finding all the weird fish and photo ops!

Thank you all
You lose 1/3 of the available selling time, so if you are not confident you can bring many customer in this night, don't dive.

It also means you need to prepare less food.

If you do really well, have highly leveled staff you can actually "sell out" in that 2/3rd of the time you have left from night diving, having as many customers as normally.

Both statements are either wrong or misleading.

Each rank has X amount of customers you can get per night with a tiny variation(the variation might not even exist in some ranks)

Doing a night dive lowers this usual maximum amount. How many you can/can't serve is another thing entirely.

It doesn't matter what staff level you have either.
The only thing staff stats do is increasing the speed multiplier of actions for your staff in the department you put them in assuming we are speaking about the cooking/serving stats.

Well, some skills also open up more 'options' of what your staff can do, especially in the serving department.

Procure stat has breakpoints at which it gets +1 to either minimum or maximum dispatch item gain and has nothing to do with anything else.

Appeal seems to increase chance of tips(+10% cash) unless staff has tip master which guarantees the tips.

Yes, thanks for understanding that, hence why I formulated this as losing time and not losing customers.

On another thread I specified that the amount of customer isn't determined only by the cooksta rating (which determines the amount of seats taken simultanously), but also by your service. Faster you are, the more customers can come within the time limit.

I advised OP to not prepare as much food, because if they are asking night diving, there is very little chance of them having high enough of a staff for them to nullify the time lost

Your statement is wrong in misunderstanding how the amount of customer is determined.

Cooksta ratings opens more seats at the same time, but the amount of customer will depends on how fast you are. Better level fast allows you to focus on serving/cleaning to keep seats opens at all time, while the staff takes care of things like drink and wasabi refill.

You lose a third of the alocated serving time when night diving, which means less customers because of less time, but the only cap on customers that exist is determine by you service speed, not by the rating directly.

So yes, leveling you staff means more customers, however for them to make up for a third of lost time they need to be extremly well leveled up and you need to be flawless in your own serving, a point of progression I assumed OP not to be in since they are asking about night dives in the first place.

I already made a lenghty explanation on how many customer you get on another thread that was dedicated to that topic.
