I just hit Chapter 2 I think.. Maybe? I just defeated the first boss anyways. My strategy has been to estimate how many customers I will have then sell the rest of the fish I don't need if they are higher value or hold onto them so the next day if I catch more I can perhaps upgrade the meal.

Put only 1 serving of the meals you want to serve, and place them on auto refill. As long as you have the ingredients, it'll keep refilling, so you won't have to worry about losing ingredients

If you're using basic sushi (just fish) I would suggest putting only 1 of a sushi on and then set that menu item to "Auto-Supply".

If you're using proper meals (Multi serving dishes) it becomes more complicated.

The amount of customers that show up to your bar depends on your cooksta rating, and if you've been out on a night dive or not that night.

For example in Early Access I knew that at gold rating you get 28 customers or 21 if you go night diving.

Right now at platinum I get 36 customers a night. Since I use proper meals I got a system worked out. I serve 5 dishes that sum up to 36 servings (7/9/7/7/6), forcing my customers to buy all of them, earning ~33K a shift.

Actually the max number of customer at the same time is what is affected by the rating. The quality and speed of service will determine how many customer you get within the time limit, so hire better staff and train them, so they can assist you better and bring more sales.

To upgrade a meal you spend a portion of the ingredient (ex: a basic sushi will require 3 fish to upgrade the first time). What likely happened is that you only had the require number of inngredient for the upgrade, upgraded it and lost your ingredient, meaning you can't serve the meal because of the lack of ingredient.

If you fish out enough ingredient again, you'll be able to serve your meal.

You have not unlocked it yet, you need to get a headlamp to dive at nightime. Play the game first and learn it before flocking to the forum to whine about something that is in the game

i cant find a auto refill

Select menu > 3rd option down > auto-refill.

The game gave you a tutorial on it

Hmm does this tutorial happen later on in the game? I also don't remember this being an option but its possible I missed it... unless its a game option that unlocks later into the game?

You can add single item on the menu and right click “auto supply” on the given dish so It doesn’t run out and no ingredient wasted:)

First night. It's given with the menu tutorial, Bancho mentions how the auto-refill works. Don't skip important dialogues.

Fair enough I didn't notice as I typically keep my staff at speeds so fast the 2 servers can handle stuff be themselves. I don't like handing out dishes because people come in so fast it's hard to keep track of who ordered first, but doing so could increase speed. If I understand you correctly, only a certain amount of seats will be filled at any 1 given time, It's my job to get them out the seat as fast as possible.

Well considering it's not outright explained, nor that you are particularly encouraged to level up your staff, it's easy to miss or mistake for something else.

And yes you understood correctly. The night is on a timer and your popularity will determine how many seat are filled at the same time, so the faster you serve them, the more new customer come, racking up a better profit.

It'll only affect profit tho, ratings will depend on your performance, AKA, how many screw ups you had. no screw up and rating goes up, too many and it goes down.
