Net bomb won't go off

I can't seen to catch tuna with the net bombs. I set them in the tuna's path, but they don't deploy the net even with the tuna swim right at them. Is there an extra thing I have to do first?

Edit: Today I found out that there was another type of net bomb. Aside from the regular net bomb, there is also the Steel Net bomb. This one works automatically. I tried it on a marlin and it went off when it charged at me. Unfortunately, I used up all my subs at that point so I had to kill it in the end.

+1. Net bombs don't work for me on tuna either. They will swim over them and be just fine. I can catch tuna if I spend the time to harpoon or attack them, though.

Use the normal harpoons and guns on Tuna. If you sleep them you an use the mini-sub

You have to press the middle mouse button to activate the net bomb.

There's a few different bombs, some blow up, some have nets, some have sensors others have trigger.

So make sure you have the correct one equipped
