The goal is to not get chomped by guessing the amount of presses and for your opponent to get chomped instead.
Once you see the tooth, count from the top right down to the tooth. Take that number and then take 19. Say for example the tooth is at position 17. So you would take 19 - 3. Now the count is on 16. This is a multiple of 4 and you want to avoid being on 16, 12, 8, or 4.
Say it is your opponents turn now and they pick 3 teeth. Now the count will be on 13 and it is your turn. What number do you pick in order to position your opponent on a multiple of 4?
Pick 1 tooth. Now they are on 12. Next turn they pick 3. Now it is 9 you pick 1 again. They are on 8. They pick 2 now it is on 6. You pick 2. Now they are on 4. They pick 1. Now it is on 3. Now you would pick 3.
16 tooth have gone down.
Now the count is left to just 1 away from the tooth and they will have to get their finger bit.
