The confusing part about all of these is that the dialogue hinting at finding something to block the punch comes up at the start of the fight. Since there is like a cutscene every time the boss winds up for the super punch maybe they could move the dialogue to that part or something.
They are all bad, boring and tedious. Jesus Christ what is that camera refocus and recharge time on him
>This will trigger a grabbable chain that you will INEVITABLY be BEHIND when the current blows you into the spike plates. And thus you won't actually have enough time to grab the chain and pull it down because the boss can't be forced backwards without decimating half your O2.
Well that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ peachy.
Also let's talk about the lack of 02 and ammo in this fight.
Lack of O2 yes, ammo not even close. When he does one of his big attacks it spawns an ammo container. I fought him on the left and it dropped down about his torso area, landing somewhat right of where the weapon crate spawns in.
I beat him with only the supplied O2 and a 376ish tank. Level 2 normal rifle. Had scooters as my items, ended with like 200 O2. Really need to learn the rhythm of this fight, moving from the chain to the range to hit his eyes was the biggest thing for me. Scooters let me get a few extra shots in each time, was able to get a few hits on his small unguarded portion with them as well. High level sniper rifles would probably make this fight the easiest, saving time with the range
I used the basic sniper rifle instead of the gun provided in the chest, and kept swiming above/over the mantis shrimp's "gloves" to ensure it attacked the ceiling. That keeps it backing up and not cornering you against the spikes for that cutscene where it causes a current to push you back.
You will still get hit at times, thats kind of unavoidable, but use the sniper rifle deals a lot of damage per bullet and if you're quick you can get two shots to his eyes whenever he lets his gaurd down.
I hope this helps other folks who fight him in the future!
