No Quit/Exit button..?

Open the Smartphone, go to Settings and on the Bottom you can Save or Exit & Save.

You can only quit or exit when you're on the surface, either in the boat or at one of the other locations. The phone has an option to manually save, and to save and quit to title. They're both at the bottom of the Settings app. Any other time you are not expected to quit the game, especially when you're underwater. It can seem inconvenient at time but that's the nature of the game.

If you need to quit during dives there's alt+F4

You can quit in the middle of a dive by pressing the ~ key while in menu (not sure what on controller. it should say top left of menu screen), but it will just end the dive and leave everything behind. It also autosaves so if you didn't manually save before the dive, then you just lose the time like as if you time skipped. If you do a manual save before each dive then you can quit out after and just load to be back before again.

Yeah I just use alt-f4 a lot. A "quit without saving" button would be appreciated but it's basically the same thing. Not having access to settings while diving also means you can't adjust the volume.

You can access settings while diving. Open the menu and look at top right. With keyboard the button is F1 IIRC, but again no idea of the controller counterpart.

Thanks. I feel like I saw this once but forgot about it since. Sometimes I turn off music and listen to something else in the background.
