Have I ruined my VIP customer request?

So my next VIP customer is the rapper than asks for vegetable sushi. I've already collected the onions,carrots and eggplants for the recipe but I've spent all my rice and now only after D-0 of the VIP I'll be able to harvest rice again.

Is there any workaround or have I screwed up for good?

He will just come back in a couple days if you fail to provide the required ingredients.

he should be able to if i recall correctly, that day he arrives at the place Otto starts working on it so that means you should be able to simply buy rice from him.

If you don't have the the ingredients for the vip they will come back in a couple days. I don't think you can actually fail the vip request.

If you dont have what they want they come back in a few days. I messed up not-Michael Bay the first round and he came back later.

I panicked when I had the ingredients for one of these VIP challenges then used them for my restaurant. Otto sold me the garlic I needed. Not economical, but that's always an option if you don't want to wait for the challenge to come around again.
