The claim that the dev of this game doesn't like to listen to their community apparently over this one issue is confusing to me as tons of community complaints have been addressed and many community suggestions and requests have been implemented.
Because the Stupid pictures on the side are way too distracting and blend in with the game to the point it's a
so the game is written in Unity. By Default.... in Unity, you have a flexible screen resolution. meaning, every display is 100% supported up front. this is with 0 UI, just the game canvas. When you add UI elements, you can specify the size of the UI, flexible, fixed, as well as pixel density, (like a 800x600 UI on a 1920x1080 screen). When you pin or 'fix' UI items to the side of the screen, they are actually fixed to a canvas layer in Unity (you can have as many canvas layers as you want). So... the game probably had a 1920x1080 canvas and had the UI hard fixed to that res. If they wanted to add ultrawide support they would need to check all of the UI to make sure it properly fits a flexible resolution. x Number of canvases. On top of that, the Videos would need to be looked at from a code point of view to take advantage of the ultrawide. Then, in game, they would need to look at the width as a flexible value and see if there are any occlusion / proximity managed items that are enabled or hidden based on a distance. those distances would need to be adjusted to be flexible (calulate the screen width and use that + a value for a distance), for things like mobs or enemies that sit 'just off screen'. and possibly... would need to adjust levels by adding in 'filler' items on the edges (like say fish farm) or maybe just open water, So its not a binary switch to go "ultrawide On | Off" but its not much more work if any in Unity, especially if you 'started' with UW support from day 1. It would probably be a few days of solid work to make sure everything is coded up correctly and the UI is coded up and then you'd need some QA cycles to make sure everything works (and theres alot of stuff to test).
or simply follow the guide here who fixes everything you want. Pretty Simple.
2024 still works.
This removes the 2 side bars and allows the game to be seen in the full width.. ( its a bit cheating for some encounters but hey, if you got it, use it) Check out my screenshot for the result.

loading screens so fast i cant read em, but this ultrawide issue is doo doo! every game should have this option
Would also love to see some WQHD support as I own a ACER Predator monitor since 2018,
