Please save my PS4 controller
from the smashing harpoon quick time action, especially the rocking left and right on left stick and the smashing button A.
Both of them is insanely high speed, only manage to success on smashing the A with left hand finger instead of normal right thumb, same for the left stick left + right with left 2 fingers instead of normal left thumb.
Both of this are really hard on the lifespan of the already weak stick shift problem and button.

The left and right stick mini game is a bit rough for me too. But as the enemy gets lower in health, the mini game requires less movement to achieve a catch.

With regards to the button mashing, I come from the generation of the original Mario party players. The best method to insure early success with the button mashing mini-game is to use the controller vibration method. Vibrate the controller in your hand gently while pressing your thumb into the button simultaniously. It works wonders, and will usually get you a catch on the first try.

Completely agree. The quick time events (QTEs) are a huge pain. I started playing on my steam deck and stopped for the exact reasons you mentioned--I'm not going to risk the health of that thing in order to play this game.

One workaround for the harpoons is to just never pick up/equip the other harpoon heads, but yeah the button smashing to catch some fish is terrible too.

Yikes. Steam deck is one of those screens and controller's in one isn't it. Ya, I wouldn't recommend man handling something as expensive as it looks.

...and for my Xbox clone controller: when adjusting the dish value to put on the menu, the L/R sticks zoom to the ends of the range, only D-pad seems to increment by a single integer...my thumbs are always on the sticks, so I usually use them to increment values, not the D-pad.
