How to I change equipment?

I know you can equip different guns and charms, but I can't seem to figure out how to change them. Like I have 2 different guns, and the only way to access and equip it is after I craft it. I know pressing "Esc" underwater shows your inventory, but you can't change it. On land, pressing "Esc" only brings up your phone. How do I switch between my guns and stuff?
