Character creation and silent protagonists don't belong in modern JRPGs. Go play Baldur's Gate 3 or something (not that there's anything wrong with that. It's a great game).
My only issue with the game is that they went for an E rating instead of a T.
But we'll see how much of an issue it turns out to be when the game comes out.
even tho there are plenty of jrpgs with character creation I see the point you where trying to make. IE the game has a set character and story so character creation wouldn't work. I disagree but see the point
I promise these features would improve it, anyone saying otherwise doesn't want the game to succeed. It sounds like the game has NOTHING to worry about lol
(JRPGs have scads of character creation, I will link if asked because they're genuinely good JRPGs still and absolutely work better with a silent protag that many JRPGs still have, get educated. So effing stupid to go through life with such thought processes, on a stick)
indeed. It went from a day one purchase to a maybe if its on sale game
That in itself is problematic as well, because it just feels... I don't know... disrespectful..? Maybe I'm reading into it too much.
Regardless, I personally would rather play a voiceless antagonist (since it seems to be the inevitable fate of 'created characters' in RPGs evidently) than that character at any rate. Just my opinion, anyway.
Sting (pre-'Crow' aesthetic) was one of the first wrestlers I was a fan of in my youth, but later in life, I thought Razor Ramon was cooler.
Ironic how those would wind up joining into the NWO some years down the line.
The game was literally never, ever, once advertised in the last couple of years as having a create a character feature.
I mean, sure, the demo should be a clear red flag to the contrary, but I guess people were still holding out hope that we were merely playing as Muchacho Man to 'learn the ropes' before the full game released...?
