3. Ragnarok Endings
by Gameplay.tips

Here are the ending condition for each episodes:
  • To trigger good ending in episode 1, talk to the kid in the orphanage and search for the event point (glows in red) on the second stage of the dungeon.
  • For episode 2, search the event point on the fourth stage of the dungeon after getting good ending on episode 1.
  • For episode 3, search the event point on fourth stage of the dungeon after getting good ending on episode 2.
  • For episode 4, search the event point on the first fight after getting good ending on episode 3 (inside the church vs 4 demons). Do not fight vs enemies before triggering the event point.
  • You will get a normal ending if you ignored the event point. If done so, the event points will not appear again at later episodes.

Here are the condition for each ending at the final episode:
  • Bad end, At episode 4, do not trigger the event point and get your party wiped out at the second battle (inside the church vs Father Salade).
  • Normal end 1, Get normal end at episode 1,2 and 3. Clear the game.
  • Normal end 2, Get good end at episode 1, 2 and 3. Ignore the event point at episode 4 and clear the game.
  • Good end, Check the event point on episode 4 and clear the game.

4. Titles

There are three titles that Priere can obtain; here is how you get them.

Demon Lord

Get to the 10th floor of a 300 DEI Portal and kill the Overlord. Prier must be in base form when doing so. The first time you achieve this will get you the Hyper Drive.

Overlord

Get to the 10th floor of a 300 DEI Portal and kill the Overlord another 20 times after obtaining the Demon Lord title. Prier must be in base form when doing the 20th or higher Overlord kill; in addition, the Overlord in question must be a minimum level of 700 for the final kill. The first time you achieve this will get you the Light Year (source myself and Doe.).

Supreme Overlord

Fully clear True Baal Castle. That means kill all the enemies, not just the level 9999 Baal. The first time you kill the level 9999 Baal will get you the Overlord Token.

To unlock this stage, you must get the Overlord title, cleared Gods Ordeal at least once, killed Disgaea Baal and finally Eringa Baal. That means you can only ever attempt this on your second cycle or beyond. All titles reset if you start a new cycle.

5. Uber Item Development

Levelling

In the original PS2 version, uber item making was easy. Maps had set patterns and you could change the direction of enemies using change ups. Both of these are gone, so we gotta speed things up.

First and foremost, you will be using Hall of the Dead for the quick addition of stats to your uber item; this means, NEVER EVER FINISH THE STAGE.

Use a weak level 1 character, place them in the corner of the map to lure away the zombie and then get the miracle chain going. The zombie will survive and you can exit back out.

Before[i.imgur.com]

After[i.imgur.com]

The Hall of the Dead miracle provides 403 EXP per go without TRIPLE EXP. That means a single purifying action would ready any of the proceeding items for fusion. If you run TRIPLE EXP, not only does it take more time to sort out, but it actually rips you off as it only provides 1155 EXP, that's a WHOPPING 54 EXP lost as well as time.

Best Fusion Items

All of the following require a single Hall of the Dead purification to reap the benefits and assume they have no element attached to the item/s.

To explain above, levels required is the minimum levels you need to gain the boost of that item for the particular stat in mind. Boost is the amount you get per item you fuse. Total needed is approximately what you need to max out the item stat. The base item you use needs to be level for level per item. So if you wanted a base item to absorb 3x attack from Glorious, you would need to have each Glorious at level 3 and the base item at level 9. If you wanted to absorb all 8 stats from the Glorious, it would need to be level 8, or level 16 if you wanted all the trainers as well (more if it has an element on top of that, so avoid elements at all cost).

If your base item requires 6 levels, you need a total of 1260 EXP for your base item, which totals to 4 visits to HOTD.

If your base item requires 9 levels, you need a total of 2700 EXP for your base item, which totals to 7 visits to HOTD.

Rinse and repeat the above for quick uber items, base stats cap out at 9999; however, the max stat you can achieve on an item is 32767, so 8192 will suffice if you take the item to level 99 (which multiplies the base stat by 4).

If you want to go in depth about how item fusion works, check out this guide by Wakuseino_Mamoru.

Item Fusion FAQ (PS2) by Wakuseino_Mamoru[gamefaqs.gamespot.com]

Item Abilities

Some items have abilities, if an item has no record of a particular ability, it can absorb from another that does. In the first instance, it will absorb 50%, every subsequent absorption will be capped at 5% with the exception of Special Attack which will be capped at 1%.

For example, say you wanted Special Attack on a Glorious. If you merged Glorious with 3x Family Jewels, it would add 12% Special Attack. You would need to absorb a further 8 Family Jewels to reach the cap of 20%. The same can be said for a Maiden item. The most a Maiden item can give as a starting point is 80%, this means you would need an additional 4 Maiden/Training items to reach the cap of 100%.

A single item can hold a maximum of 8 abilities; here is a list of known abilities.

6. Endgame Levelling

Best Lineup

Experience gained per battle has a limit, once it hits it, you start increasing the experience you need to get a new level as opposed to actually levelling up. It falls somewhere in between the line of 213,493,638 and 218,856,102 EXP, which means the most experience you can ever gain from a single battle is around 214 million experience, which isn't a lot post level 4000.

End game levelling is basically lining up seven Baals to be killed off by the character you intend to level. Here is a rough run down on how much EXP you can get.

7x 2000 Baal = 30,127,538 EXP (approx)
7x 4000 Baal = 53,373,908 EXP (approx)
7x 6000 Baal = 80,064,866 EXP (approx)
7x 8000 Baal = 106,755,866 EXP (approx)

With stronger enemies at maximum level, and having beaten Gods Ordeal at least 3 times, you can encounter Baals anywhere from level 2000 up to a maximum of level 8000 (source Kalanyr). Sometimes the Baals will have an item on them which prevents them from being converted; however, if you have no inventory space the conversion will work like normal (source EnamL9x).

Level Bonus for Items

Your equipment also provides a good boost to stats, there is even a formula to work out what you can get from that. For every level beyond 100, you gain a multiplier for equipment; here is how it works.
  • 1% per level after 100 up to level 500
  • 0.5% per level after 500 up to level 1000
  • 0.2% per level after 500 up to level 9999

TLDR, at level 500, your equipment stats are multiplied by 5, at level 1000 your equipment stats are multiplied by 7.5 and at level 9999, you multiply your equipment stats by 25.49.

Also, your Training Levels DO NOT affect your equipment stats. That means at level 9999, the most a single piece of equipment can offer is 835,230 to a single stat, which means the absolute most you can get from a set of equipment is 3,340,920, taking into account stats from level, it is unlikely you could get above 10m in a single stat even with buffs.

7. Tricky Achievements

Blown to Divine Smithereens!

Perform a mass miracle purification with a 50,000 chain bonus.

This requires access to the hyper drive and cave of trials 3. The trick is to get as many bats in the chain as possible. The higher the level, the more bonus you get from them when they are hit by the chain. See the video below for an example of how I got it:

https://youtu.be/S6cND53-ahs

Quality Over Quantity

Buy the most expensive item in the shop.

This is deceptive. I originally thought there was a new item that was above the God Staff in price. This is however not the case, you just need to buy something that is worth more than the God Staff (which costs 179,000,000 prica). Simply level up an item such as the God Staff, sell it back to the store and re-purchase it. This should trigger the achievement (I used a fully levelled Robot Suit to get it personally).

According to bobbert0476, he attempted to sell his fused level 99 Robot Suit with no achievement in sight; however, his unfused level 26 Super Amp did trigger it; so, it stands to reason that the item in question must be unfused.

Where to Find Them

The location of most items have been posted by Reinbach_III; you can find them here.

Items FAQ (PS2) by Reinbach_III[gamefaqs.gamespot.com]

But this does not cover all of them, here is a simple breakdown of where to find the others.
  • Naked Apron, comes with the DLC character Eri, can obtain one per cycle whenever you recruit her
  • Super Amp, comes from Disgaea Baal the first time you kill him
  • Myao's Staff, comes from Eringa Baal the first time you kill him
  • Overlord Token, comes from the level 9999 Baal from True Baal Castle the first time you kill him
  • HP/SP Recovery Items (Cough Drop through to Elixshroom), comes from endings and portal purifications (random)

Rewards

Completing a percentage of the item list will give you a bonus item; here is what you get.
  • 10%, Raise ATK
  • 30%, Sexy Lingerie
  • 50%, Magic Ring
  • 75%, Arondight
  • 100%, Robot Suit, Light Year & Hyper Drive

9. Music Room

You can get all 32 tracks in game by doing two playthroughs, one of the normal story and one of the demon lord route.

Normal Story
You can get tracks 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20 & 28 by achieving the Good Ending on Chapter 1 of the normal story and watching all scenes that lead onto Chapter 2.

You can get tracks 10 & 21 by achieving the Good Ending on Chapter 2, briefly listening to the cut scenes.

You can get track 6 by achieving the Bad Ending on Chapter 3, briefly listening to the cut scenes.

You can get tracks 13, 16, 22 & 25 by achieving the Special Ending on Chapter 4, briefly listening to the cut scenes.

You can get track 15 by achieving the Good Ending on Chapter 5, listening to the entire final cut scene until Prier ponders on what love is.

You can get tracks 23, 24, 26 by achieving the Good Endings on Chapters 6 through til 10, listening to all the cut scenes (sorry in advanced here, but you only need to do it once so).

You can get tracks 2, 17, 27 & 29 by finishing the game, briefly listening to the cut scenes, and listening to the end credits (2 & 17 are rewarded for completing the game).

Demon Lord Story
You can get track 30 by listening to any title card during this story, the first place obviously being Chapter 1.

You can get the final tracks, that being 31 & 32, by simply achieving the Good Ending for this story. This means activate all the tiles, don't hurt your pals, beat the final boss. 31 comes from fighting Calamity, 32 comes from the music playing during the credits scene with the artwork of Prier & Croix.

Added a couple of things, added Close Call to the list of Special Abilities; as well as, the note of how you can become immortal in a 1v1 fight.

Also added a section pertaining to stats, this covers how to work out your base stat, how training levels affect these things; as well as, how equipment stats work/scale with level etc.

Once I have played a bit more, I will reconfigure the thread to be easier to read/flow etc and include more information posted here etc.

Working on updating this now, btw, when I was attempting a few true baal castle fights, turns out sometimes a max level enemy 20/20 increase can make that baal have 1 HP. Hopefully they will patch it as it really takes away point of the challenge but eh, easy way to get that token for those aiming for 100% item list.
Any ideas on stages useful for getting the consumables? The 4 HP healing items and the 4 shrooms?

I know it's random with dark portal purifies, but having even a rough direction to poke at would be nice :x

Edit: To be more specific, I seem to be missing Energy Candy, Elixir Candy, Healshroom and Elixshroom.

Edit 2: Found a Lozenge on a Mt Champignon, so Medishroom is likely possible there, so Healshroom might be in earlier areas. Not certain however.

I got my elixshroom on chapter 10 good ending; however, that was the patch before the current, who knows if it's changed.

I wouldn't expect Patches to change the potential drops without mentioning it. While rewards are random in NISA games they are usually random from a set of items assigned a Rank , and it's that Rank that's assigned to the Map / Event rather than being a specific set per stage/event or completely random. So it would usually take a deliberate decision to change the potential drops.

I plan to do another new game of this in the future, I will be screen shotting every single instance of finding a recovery item so we got concrete stages to farm to make future playthroughs easier.
For the "Quality Over Quantity" achievement, I'm pretty sure that the item you sell and then re-buy must not be fused. I tried selling and re-buying my level 99 Robot Suit with maxed ATK and it didn't trigger the achievement, but selling/buying an unfused Level 26 Super Amp did trigger the achievement.

I will update the thread, since I never sold a fused version when I got the achievement I would have missed that!
I have updated the guide, I have added a more detailed guide on how to obtain all music tracks. You can do it via two playthroughs, the normal story and the demon lord story (good ending). My last real update for this guide will be exact locations for consumables (been logging wherever one popped up etc).
Okay, that was my last play through for some time. Two final thoughts found when playing through. The first is, the uber baal is still bugged, if you get max stronger enemies (aka 20), and reload his map, if his HP value becomes to high, it goes negative causing it to be 1. This means you can one shot him with any spell caster like this.

The second is the recovery items. Based on my multiple cycles and grinding of certain maps via purifying portals, I can say for certain that from chapter 10 onward, this is the highest level of item tier drop. That means from chapter 10 cleared through until end game portal purifying, you can encounter both versions of Elixr. In fact, technically, if you just grind Co3 long enough while dealing with the final legs of item maximization, you will eventually encounter all the recovery items through sheer force.
*Hmmm* I think that fusion guide is missing something when it comes to Elemental Fusion. I don't have enough items of varying kinds to trouble shoot things but taking an item with level 2 in an element and combining it with 3 more level 2s = 8 , however adding 8 of a different element only increases it by 5 on a single item , and adding 4 only increases it by 3. This appears to suggest that combined items only add 1 + (1/2 of their actual value) but as I said I don't have enough items to really pick this apart and test if it's got something to do with item or monster levels (it doesn't seem too).

ETA - I think the same formula may apply to stat training properties as well.

Here is an example, say you needed 70,000 experience to level up, if you say got 219,000,000 experience (which is above this limit), to get that level, you will now need to get 219,070,000 experience. Fun days!

Well, that is super uncool.

Edit:
Hold on.. Something about that still doesn't add up. I did a triple XP map with 7 Baals level 6000-7000. That should have put me above the 219 million limit. I still leveled like 32 levels or so (level was a bit higher than 2500). I didn't pay attention to the XP total though.

To be fair, this is only an issue at the higher end of the spectrum, my guide here does state the optimal leveling groups so just stick to it in order to progress smoothly :)
