Why is Remote Play not enabled?
This game seems meant for multiplayer, but $25 each is quite steep to be able to play this with a friend, let alone 2 or 3. The game has local multiplayer, so why wouldn't you just tick the box to allow Remote Play? Not to mention a lot of the negative reviews state the online is glitchy and weird.

I'd gladly buy the game if Remote Play was enabled.

Hi ToastMunchie, thanks for your inquiry. Here is a copy of an answer we gave about Remote Play Together in our Discord :

Originally posted by Seed By Seed:
Initially we built the game with some asymetrical actions in Multiplayer. Like giving an item, voting, or tp-ing on other players when it's not your turn. And that means we built the whole multiplayer system in a format 1 player = 1 controller (gamepad or mouse). And that won't translate well into Steam Remote Play. It could work for 90% of the game and create real issues when playing in multi. And if we declare on Steam that we support SRP, then it means we have to support it all the way (same for Steamdeck for example), which, at the moment to be honest, we don't have the resources for.

To be transparent, we are thinking about it, and we sure will investigate if there is a solution. But we can't realistically say officially to everyone: yes OK we promise the SRP, when we're not sure we can have the "funding" that allows us to make it seriously.

About online issues, we are currently fully working on them, along with game improvements a lot of players are asking for.

I'll let you know if we enable Remote Play !

Sorry to press further, but I guess I don't quite understand. Remote Play allows all players to play with their own controllers, in fact I'm not sure how you would play most games without that. The game says it has Local/Split Screen Co-op, so if that works why wouldn't Remote Play work? Any game that has Local Multiplayer already has everything it needs to work perfectly in Remote Play.

We also though it was as simple as ticking a box in Steam backend, but we had some trouble with our previous game and we want to be sure to test it well before making it public. But be sure we are planning to take a look on Remote Play compatibility very soon :)

I am also a developer on Steam. Isn't the whole point of Steam Remote play that 1 player = 1 controller, just emulated over the internet?

Anyway, just wanted to say this game looks awesome.

Wait...I feel like either you or I are misunderstanding this then. You just said in an earlier comment that you built the game to be 1 player = 1 controller, and you just agreed that Remote Play is also 1 player = 1 controller (which it is). So how aren't they compatible? Are you sure you understand what Remote Play really does? You say that you had trouble with a previous game which I can understand, but from what I can see there should be no such problem with this one.

There should not be such problem with this one indeed, we need to be sure before enabling it. Tests are currently done, and they are positive for the moment.

You could probably pull this off using Parsec, but you'd have to get all your friends to download Parsec too
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
