How on earth ppl who tried this quest before thought this quest was OK, this totally ruined the fun of the game especially when you have fun quest like Magnus or Vepps. All of this for a Pop culture ref about Game of Throne and what's even worse is that AT LEAST Jon Snow kept his body . Nah not happy at all with that quest, i have fun with that game, didn't thought i would but this, only wants me to finish the game and never tried it again...
For the ppl who read this and are with the gravity fist gang Just fight against Gutberry or don't do her quest chain, her quest is not worth it at all, at least right now...
edit: I'm stilll pissed off lol but dial it down with the pop culture refs, i'm not kidding that bad game design choice is the reason why this quest is bad because you wanted to do a pop culture ref for some reason.....
We hope that you see that we are trying to make the quests as interesting and unique as possible, so the stories you experience in space prison are most entertaining and memorable. Because of that, some ideas, like the one with asking a player character to die, might be controversial. We can of course change this, if you would like us to. It won't be a fast change as we need to change the quest graph structure, change the dialogs, send those to localization for 9 languages and then test the changes properly. So this change may need at least 1-2 weeks to get into the game. But we can definitely do this, if you want this changed.
At the same time I wanted to tell you a bit more about this and ask whether you really want this change. So please hear me out and then you can decide on this.
We have designed the world of Space Prison and it's progression in a way that you can choose what to do - you can chooses which convitcts to challenge and you can choose which one to befriend. You can make your choice based on how much you like their look, their personality, their story or how they fit into your combat party.
The King in the North quest with Gutberry does require your character to die to progress, but at the same time, you don't need to complete it. It is tough choice to make. Do I want to sacrifice my character and see what Gutberry's story is? And get a unique reward after completing the quest? (REWARD SPOILER: after completing the quest chain for Gutberry you get a unique party member that you can't get in any other way in the game. SPOILER END). It is a sacrifice. But it is a sacrifice that you can do willingly or choose not to.
The game is designed in a way that you don't have to complete the quests if you don't want to as you only need 1 Respect to advance in a gang. Some players consider this as a meaningful gameplay choice. But at the same time you brought our attention to the fact that some of you do not like to have this choice in the game.
What do you guys think? Do you want us to leave this choice or do you want to have it removed?
