I went with Hypernova because my smuggler background brought rope as it's random item and I had a night 1 Whip... flow with what the game gives you kinda thing.
The passives you get while ranking up MIGHT be different. As far as I know, the two gangs share the same passives for the first two times where you can choose one (i.e. upon joining a gang and first rank up). But Hypernova is confirmed to have the option to get a passive of reducing drone leadership cost by 1 (i.e. the better version of the rat passive in a sense since drones are effectively a better version of rats). Yet, it is unsure whether Galaxy Fist gets the same option
With the big gun and armour upgrades the robot is way more powerful, but I didn't find the base killer robot more powerful than the base mechrat. I am not sure if the gun is bugged though, because it doesn't have a durability and just disappears.
This.
Yeah, that's what I meant. The upgraded one lets you basically stun-block most enemies. I equipped them on all my party members and cheesed every fight, including the last boss fight.
I love the bones of the game and the idea of it.
