smart move dev and or random dude. im gettin this now xD
But showing video made him buy the game
Awesome!!!!
The FPS does not feel professional. I don't know if you played call of duty 2 in 2005, but that felt better. It would be more comparable to Call to Arms which is similar to this game.
There is no strategy. There might be some tactics like spamming artillery or flanking in the woods. If found a strategy to just kite enemies away from the capital then take it. Immediately send all supplies back to base and wait. I've done this at the beginning of the game and haven't had a game where they take it back. I disband the garrisons and send the stuff to the world market. Turn all the buildings to residential. So even if you had a strategy, the AI is incapable of responding.
Movement is so bad in this game. In Call to Arms, another RTS/FPS hybrid, the squads can be sent to cover and it shows where they would be deployed on the order. Like lined up behind sand bags. In Warno, a RTS strategy game, you can instruct the vehicles to take the road or go straight to the point.
Maps are boring and uninspired. The campaign map is laughably small. It's like the size of 1 arma map. The battle map doesn't feel as cramped as Call to Arms and the scale doesn't seem artificially manipulated like Warno ( Warno has really big maps with weapons range in the kilometres), but it certainly feels cramped. Coupled with the worst ai pathing you have zero tactical control for positioning or maneuvering. Some things include artillery units deploying behind a tree and repeatedly shooting it. Deploying a tank for it to line up backwards then fail to turn around. Vehicles trying to drive off the map, depoy on trees, through buildings, and driving right though infantry.
Thoughts : This game is like a diet video game. It taste bad but vaguely reminds you of something original and great. As long as it keeps doing what it's doing it should find it's niche. The bad AI is keeping me from returning. Which is a shame because I really like the concept.
Recommendations: Start over with AI. It is so bad I don't know how you can possibly fix it. EDIT: New update with lots of changes to AI. LETS GO!
Create tools for players. I remember the early days of modding bf2 custom maps for AI you had to create pathing waypoints and stuff.
