This game is brutally hard

Is there anyway to make the game easier? I can't figure anything out and I keep getting attacked. How do I build units? How do I gain resources? Are there cheats to this game yet? Anything that'll make it less irritating to play?

There are Guides on steam and youtube video tutorials also on Steam Guides tab.
If you want to play just the FPS you can also play the Tactical Campaign. It is similar to the Conquest mode in Call to Arms and does not have the 4x element.

stick with "Tactical Campaign" (or quick battle) to ease into this brilliant game..... there are lots of youtube videos and check out the guide section in the forums.... free feel to ask me anything.....

The game has quite a large scope, especially in the global campaign, and it can be quite daunting. Add to that the factor that many of us are time poor and want to play the game in a much easier way (I have enough drama in real life and just want to chill) so are comfortable looking at cheats and mods, I feel your pain! WeMod does have an engine for Total Conflict, and Nexus does have a mod that helps too (although they may not be up with the latest updates yet). Workshop support may help when it arrives also. There is so much depth in this game that I want everything, all at once... must learn patience, must learn patience!

Well I thought it's very complicated and hard at the start. After a while it all made sense. It's not a casual indi game for sure. Few games you will lose hard. Before, you will not understand what all complaining about, as everything seems so natural by then.
I don't like it when it's too easy. Too easy - never happens in real life.
