Recon does not. Just a 5 men squad, which is practical with some Light Vehicules, like MRAP or Hammer , since you dont have sits for all of them.
In multiplayer , like Squad , its a very powerfull unit cause 5 players with insain mobility are excellent infantry killers and light vehicules hunter.
In game , since you can only use 10 squads at the same time , the usefullness is questionable.May be usefull with tanks , like 2 crew and 3 covers , since AI likes to focus you with air strikes - you will lose less men from explosion.
My thinking was that the smaller and better armed elite squads wearing heavy armor would offset their smaller squad size. Plus I thought they would conserve the number of "reservists" that I lose, since infantry die pretty quickly in battle.
I just use infantry to protect my tanks from RPG infantry. My new late game strategy is to ditch IFVs like the M2 Bradley entirely, and just have 8 ten-man "elite motorized" squads with an M1A1 as their vehicle with 2 M109s in my initial ten squad stack. It's not like the M1s are going to outpace the infantry, and that allows the M1s a good infantry screen
IRL yes. It has lot of space inside. I used to serve in French Army for 5 years , we got few Brads in Mali. Accordingly to manuals it does carry 6 passangers. But from manuals to field applications ... you know?... So to make it short, there are sits that 8 men can use if they sit tight and there is space on the floor , where you can place extra 2 men.
What we did when using Brads - 8 men sit and drop they backpacks on the floor, then 2 lucky guys law in the middle, on bags.
Squad leader (was me) had to sit the deepest cause there is a radio to com with Brad crew.
Now, not all Brads are the same inside. There are Brads they where arranged inside to be used as an APC and you can fit 10 men in there. And there are others , used are IFV , where you can only fit 3 men + 1 on the floor and one side is filled with tons of equipement.
This one we used as a support vehicule , which can kick into fight , f the hell all enemy infantry , drop us supplier and carry out 1-2 wounded soldiers with medics out of combat.
Brads are Bastards of the modern world. They are APC and IFV and Light Tank.
Good vehicule to have on your side in small numbers operations. Like in Mali , when you got Brad on your back , you are happy, cause islamic rebels had nothing to pierce its armor. RPG , even Tandem charges would do damage to the vehicule , yeah, but inside everyone would be safe.
On modern Brads you also carry 2-4 heavy anti tank guided missiles, in addition to its 30mm gun. The 30mm gun is all round LAV killer but , dispite images from UA war , Brad would get a hard time to take down a modern tank with 30mm gun. Missiles on the other hand...
Anyway , when you are in the army, really good as infantry men to have those.
I was wondering about that too. Why are the scout squads not able to be available in the other ideologies?
