from my understanding a very big update is coming in several weeks from now.
I am not sure if AI changes you mentioned here will be part of the next update or not.
But yes, Balancing AI is important. It is important to know that AI is only mimicking intelligence. It does not know that the obstacle in front is a "Burning Truck".
Also AI can see you through walls and behind its head. and it can hear your from across the Map, but then rules tell it to pretend like it cannot see you or hear you to make it act like a real player.
In the past AI was too OP. And people complained about being sniped through the Forest before they could see the enemy.
I think that yes maybe they should react when they hear you sneak up behind them but not too soon.
I think if the AI became like the bots in Hired Ops (180 Headshot), some people would accuse it of cheating again.
There is a difference in between hitscanning and situational awareness. People will definitely react if the AI snipes everything moving with pinpoint accuracy through bushes, rocks or glass windows. It canot be considered as an AI, it is an aimbot. If you cannot pull out how the AI works in your game, i am afraid to say that your game will be short lived. Every computer we have these days comes with immensive processing power which can be utilized to provide an immersive gaming experience.
The movement is the key, which can be scripted with minor variations. Flanking, taking cover, sneaking or point defense as well as area defense can be pre-defined for the AI to execute. It would rather be easy as the maps are not randomly generated. The trick is to define at least ten different variations of the same maneuver so that the player can be fooled into believing that the opponent is sentient enough to make the engagements more challenging. Snipers taking high ground, shotgunners holding the chokepoints, asasult rifle holders occupying windows vice versa. At the moment, the AI is not reacting, that's what i am trying to explain. It would be a long shot and yourselves may even find it offensive if i insist that there is no AI at all at this iteration of the game.
I was really disappointed when togheter with those sexy sights for the vehicles the AI was nerfed into dumbness on the last patch, it felt ridiculous playing with a sniper inside a building having direct line of sight of at least 30 dudes plus 2 vehicles and none of them shooting at me while I decimated them with a bolt action rifle on realistic difficulty.
If people complain about bots seeing and shooting through bushes just tell them to use the red markers for the enemy and it is even but nerfing the AI like that was my first BIG disappointment with this game.

122 kills with two AKM s. Supposed to be the elite difficuilty.
The AI failed to throw a grenade through the window, two losses are friendly fire.
The guy who has surrendered rather very urgently in the first picture used to be a cross-dresser working in the Blue Osyter Bar, looks like accidentally drafted by Holste(r)bro and sent to the front lines.
Two losses, 40+ kills with scoped sks. 20+ kills made by allied units. The rest is with an AKM.
I was the attacker. Another city has fallen.
A cross dresser in the Blue oyster bar hahahahahaha LMAO
