stop crying about resource management
obviously some of you are short sighted and cannot see the grand vision that will eventually be this game. the actual battles is exactly what i was missing out of hearts of iron personally, I could give two donkey ♥♥♥♥♥ about the resource management "complexity" it's generally what comes with ambitious games like this.

so to the dev, please ignore the whiners. they will likely not stick around to see the game come to fruition anyways. do not bend or falter to their idiocy. keep moving straight. though, as a compromise for certain people you could think of putting resources and their information into one tab to clear the clutter that's currently on the screen, how much you are + or - per day/week and a "stockpile" tab if you will, similar to Hoi4 that shows when you will likely run out etc. I would even say copy hoi4 in terms of tech tree as well, it's a good system.

I sincerely love the direction the game is going in, I like how it's presented. a great mix of hoi4 - hell let loose - warband etc. (personally would love more aspects from hoi4 brought over, maybe even a focus tree to make nations unique in some aspect)
there are certain aspects that are a bit clunky such a battle management in the actual battle, obviously the UI needs cleaned up and some separate tabs made for resources. I also would encourage the Ai mode you mentioned in another thread where the Ai handles logistics of food and whatnot in your nation.

so tldr stop whining about the systems currently in the game, the game has improved significantly since the last beta and has a long way to go. feedback is good in all forms but needlessly crying about something that is easy to manage could end up hurting the game.

1000++ . Exactly what i think as well , i loved playing HOI and i loved the management of little things however it botherd me alot not being able to manage the battles in a way like playing wargame so i always wished if HOI and wargame could be mixed , now TCR has brought to the table what these games didnt do . Ofcourse the game needs alot of ideas and deep diplomacy and other things which im sure will come with future updates . Even now the game still a blast .

No one has made a game like this. It's new territory.

It took me about an hour of messing around to get the basics of resource management. It's not really that hard or complex. I would, however, really enjoy some tooltips. Something like "-1 making 9x19 ammo" when hovering over iron for example. I'd definitely like to have more information easily available. To use the previous example, it wasn't a game breaker to have to watch the deployment and see that I get 1,000 rounds per production cycle, but it would sure be nice to be able to hover over it and see that info.

For better or worse, this is the time most eyes will hit this project. I almost *didn't* buy it due to some of the complaints. On here. I did and I'm having fun, but quality of life improvements make a big first impression.

Thank you for your comment.

i totally agree with you , the ressources system must be maintained , but it doesnt mean it cant be improved to suppress some very annoyiong micro management , like a leader of a country isnt couting every bullets ands every piece of bread he sends , and if he does he has at least an accounting service to help him know how much to send in differents places ....in the actual system when you have 10 towns or more it will be a simple nightmare to manage cause you dont have infos on production and needs , you dont have infos on you convoys already working , and seems you cannot supress them either or i dont know how
i love Hearts of Iron and i have thousands of hours on it since the 2 , i love mount and blade and i love the Total War serie too , and Total Conflict could be one of my favorite too but it clearly needs some improvements to be playable
doesnt mean they have to supress thing , on the contrary they need to add some

i love the ressources management for weapons, ammo, Ore etc.
It also allows to secure resources if we lose a city, evacuate everything and put it under cover.

But the management of consumable resources like food, alcohol, and cigarettes is a nightmare. It should be in a global inventory and automatically distributed in the cities, or at least let us the possibility to let an AI manage this aspect.

imagine if in HOI you have to manually send each oil barrel or each supply manually. it's just hell

The resources management is pretty easy. I don't see why this is a topic to begin with either way
HengerR Apr 25, 2023 @ 10:18am
The game's logistics system severely lacks 2 very important features.

1: Consumption numbers - There is nothing that tells us how much food / alcohol / cigarettes is consumed by a town so logistics setup is just a guesswork...

2: A logistics tab where we can see the active supply routes (city X sending commodity Y to city Z)

I would also add a text box as an addition to the slider where you set the amount of resources to be transferred because getting a lower number right now is tricky / impossible if you have a larger stockpile.

Yeah, it's pretty simple. Just finished up my first EA playthrough and I wasn't worrying about food/alcohol in the late game. However, I can see why people find it complex since it isn't exactly friendly to newcomers. The lack of information regarding supply/demand makes it more difficult than it has to be. Supple/Demand info is the bare minimum a game like this should have so I think it's completely acceptable for people to be upset.

Nah, it is boring and serves no purpose, player retention is important in games and this one has obviously a issue with it, being resource management the main complaint.
Formous Apr 25, 2023 @ 2:58pm
I can't agree. The massive sum of resources to track and keep track of is not fun. Further, the distribution of core supplies you need to not be entirely over run is insane. One country has 2 wheat fields and zero copper. You need copper for the basics of vehicles and rpg. It's literally set up to fail. I would change things such as raw resources. I would remove these entirely, and focus instead on just the refined materials. It takes ages. Why do I have to fight off armies armed with strikers when i can't even manufacture one myself. Buy Copper? Yeah sure if any was actually sold on market. Buy fuel? I suppose at least the oil is being sold.
