We're using our own engine, called Cereal Box. It's written in C.
It's the same engine that we've used for Super Arcade Football, Super Arcade Racing and Wild Baffo. It allows for very optimised games, with basically no loading time and very small footprint in terms of MBs. In time we've expanded its capabilities to support every major OS and consoles.
If you'd like to know more feel free to ask. 🙏
Also, writing our own engine gives us the advantages mentioned earlier and it's a lot of fun ;)
I played the game fully on the Steam Deck and it shows how well it performed while being very frugal on the battery. Glad that some devs out there still want to have fun also with the "under the hood" components of a game!
Thanks for that! We do care about out tools and we're happy you noticed the impact on the performances :)
