Magic Key use

I mean, in the original game the purpose of the magic key was to open doors without using fruits. In this remake fruits won't leave even if you use them so... what's the use of the magical key? Only for the achievement?

Not a big deal, but it kind of sucks the Magic Key doesn't carry over on a new save file or have a New game plus. I think the point is that it makes collecting stuff easier & the better you are as you play, the faster you unlock it.
It was definitely helpful for me on the last world (Boss Mansion).

You must score over 770,000 points in order to get the Magic Key.

New Game+ Would be just replaying the levels on the current save.
