How to handle 6kw ASICs?
Hey guys...

Has anyone managed to handle the 6kw ASICs yet in terms of cooling? The always run way to hot in my setup, so I stick to the 3kw ones for now...

Is there a guide or hint on propper room layouts?

Thanks

I like to do hot and cold datacenter lanes. So:

1. one row of AC units next to a wall,
2. then an empty row because I like all equipment to be approachable. That"s our cold lane.
3. then a row of racks with ASIC blowing hot air into the next row (4)
4. an empty hot lane row where temperatures will be very high (rows 3 and 5 blowing into it)
5. a row of ASIC racks, but rotated the other way to blows back into the hot lane (4)
6. an empty cold lane
7. go back to 1 and repeat. Just don"t go wall-to-wall in this case - allow 1 empty space for people to walk.

For 6000W ASIC, in rows with racks (3 and 5) you have to separate every 2 racks with one AC unit.

This works for basic setup. If you want overclocking, you might want to have an additional "column" of AC units. So, not a row like these above, but one line of AC along the side wall (opposite to the door).

That is similar to how real datacenters works. There could be some more space efficient layout in the game, maybe someone else can chip in.

Ah alright... I didn't think about putting some AC between the racks :-D I do basically the same setup, except I skip the empty cold lane and place the racks directly in front of the AC... So I can't reach AC but you never have to :-D I will give it a try, thanks a lot!
