so, can i just not worry about 100% clearing story missions?...
because the exploration is quite honestly really tedious...
no icons on the minimap/full map until you get close enough, and it doesn't really seem like the devs placed these collectables on the way to your quest objective (which should be common sense).

and among the many bothersome aspects of this game, most of which i can tolerate, the one thing that really irritates me is how you can't tell if the next orange marker during your mission is the final objective or not. This is probably the main reason why a lot of my missions have missing collectables. When I took every detour to collect everything before the next objective, then it turns out that objective wasn't the last one and now I have to backtrack and go back. When I go straight to the objective, turns out the mission is over, and I can't go back and collect.

and i really, really don't want to repeat these missions just to collect this stuff.

so can i just skip them and not worry about them? Especially the outfits. Are the outfits good enough to actually go back and farm them?

I mean why wouldn't you want the outfits? Most of the beta outfits are story mode unlocks. You just need to search the map for the named monster and kill it and it will 100% drop the outfit, then you clear the quest, bam outfit unlocked, its not that hard. Also the cube items hidden on the map drop illustations for your player card, I didn't bother with most of those and just focused on getting every outfit. Edit: though a friendly tip for anyone doing the volcano place where you fight the dragon boss, you have to backtrack to where you fought the elemental in the cave and the named enemy spawns where you killed the elemental, wanted to post that for anyone having that trouble

if they're generic white T-shirt and cargo pants, i wouldn't want them
but i guess your post is saying yes, you want them

so i have to go back in there....sigh
you have to run around the entire map to find this boss dude. This is really poorly planned and thought out. They couldn't take a pointer from every other action RPG out there that was successful?

Nah. They are sometimes recolored outfits of main characters that can everyone can use. Eg. Sinon's default outfit but red. Can be worn by Silica, etc.

Change your minimiap option to far, and then things just show up on it when you're near them, it's not that hard to find collectibles on maps.

dude
the named monster in the chapter 2 quest 3 is like 100 kilometers BEYOND the actual final boss of the quest in some random ditch

i had to google search this because i didnt want to spend another 20 minutes flying through every nook and cranny of this quest as silica again

it's actually kind of mind-boggling how everyone seems okay with this? this is really atrocious level design

Most people are okay with this because they enjoy playing the game and exploring the map, which you clearly don't. It's additional content in the maps and optional bosses that give cosmetic rewards, of course people will like it. They could've paywalled all of it behind dlc or done much worse.

If you don't want to do it, don't.

buddy, it's like you've never played a half decent action adventure game. Any souls games? Code Vein? Granblue Fantasy Relink? Nioh?

i highly doubt "most people" would enjoy playing this because "most people" aren't playing this, but you've conveniently left that nuance out.

having items to loot and bosses in the map isn't "additional content", are you stupid? You might as well say having enemies in the map is "additional content", and i should be thankful they graced me with a map in the first place.

"thank goodness they didn't paywall the outfits behind dlc" yes, thank you for being the bare minimum. Oh wait, there ARE paywalled outfits. Huh. But to be honest, i'd rather just pay then roam around the bland map for 30 minutes trying to find the boss. A lot of the outfits are stupid pieces of accessories like sunglasses or whatever. At least with paid DLC, i can just pick and choose.

lastly, "don't play it if you don't like it"
Ah, yes, the classic non-argument of the Crap Game Defense Forces. i'll do whatever i please, thank you. At least have the intelligence to acknowledge critical faults of your game.

you selectively left the part out that souls games are not for everyone. whereas this game is easy enough to where its more accessible than a souls game. what part of not everyone likes souls style games is hard for people like you to grasp? as they said if you don't like the game, don't play it and go back to your souls games. also only a few of the outfits are sunglasses and stuff, there are actually good ones like a gungale bodysuit for males and a soldier outfit, they aren't all just recolors like the one person said, so yes, the outfits are worth it, as I said the beta outfits are some of the unlocks. heck there are even 2 outfits and a weapon skin to unlock for getting all the character endings, which the game is nice enough to unlock 4 endings for each character you choose per run for the final boss which makes it fast and easy. and no the 2 outfits are not glasses like you're assuming, they're the outfits of f u u k a and neige. edit: idk why steam censored her name.
