Pretty much need to play on asia server. Lag can be hit or miss, for me its fine I notice it never, but for others they cant play it. As for ques, you can almost always find a full 20/20 for co-op and raids with the exception of world difficulty 2 co-op since everyone just does the raid to level instead. As for the "multiplayer" part, there really isnt any, you will be partied with 3 other people and for the most part you will follow each other around but you dont really need anyone to be able to win. Tanks and support are just lies and you are dps. As for how long the game will sustain itself I couldnt tell you but keep in mind it could become a barren wasteland a month after launch making nothing but the single player story playable. You also do not get to keep your purchased goods from the real money store when playing offline.

If you enjoy the source material you will definitely get more out of the game, as another solo player its been a pretty fun grind. With 21 chars to choose from you will more than likely find a few that match your play style. When groups dont fill bots take the space and they are good enough to revive you if you go down and do decent dps outside of 2nd boss raid in which they become kinda useless since the thing flys around.

most people playing this are solo, there is a queue for literally all available coop content and it fills pretty fast if the region isn't during dead hours, although some times you will be put in a game with like 5 people and 15 bots so that your queue isn't 1 hour for example
I only play solo as well and I haven't stopped playing since it came out so you wouldn't miss out on anything as of now
they are making some harder version of the bosses soon, but I'm pretty sure they will have a queue option as well and it will just be harder and with better rewards (the requirements to join them are quite high)

multiplayer its recommended to play on asia, and dont be discouraged by steam number since this game has crossplay i have been playing coop just fine, if ur a sao fan that watch all of the anime and movie the story is such a treat and lobby interaction is nice too, battle is not on level as gbfr but its still fun

How so? We can't even speak to each other via text chat in-game.

Dont listen to this guy i play solo and i have had no problems, havent ran into any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I also am not really a fan of sao this is the first one ive bought. I picked it up because i like looters with coop that i can easily play with randoms without talking and this game hits the spot. I really like the combat although the lock on kind of sucks.

All multiplayer modes are competition with other players (even your own party to anextent).

Co-op with friends is possible, but you'd have to be min-maxing a party (characters, build and timing) to do that, so unlike in proper co-op games friend are not a combat advantage.

Granblue Relink is a very similar, but more polished combat experience, but I'd check with others regarding how multiplayer is. So many multiplayer games means most of them die really fast.

EU never goes above 4 - 5 players per session... even in prime time it doesn't go over 10
only ASIA is alive imo.... which sucks
