Which SAO game is the best one?
Hello everyone! I'd love to give a shot to one of these games but there are so many of them and honestly I do not see many differences between most of them!
Could you please tell me which one is your favorite and why? Thank you, have a great Sunday!

Fatal bullet is by far the best sao for me because it is the most modern SAO with great gameplay :), hollow realization can be good too
(the rest of this post is not targeted as a response to anyone in this thread, this is just me complaining)

imo "the rank 100 wall" is a problem because of the HUGE lack of contents, if you do the story then you'll realise the online mode only use the story contents so there is nothing new at rank 100, the "new"(lol) extreme boss at rank 90 released 2-3 week after the game launch with NO REWARDS bruh and btw that boss is only here to make sure every players are burning out even more

like the game make you do the same content again and again, the dlc quests are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge joke because it is the same lazy ♥♥♥♥ again

everything about this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flaw, i'm for real mad to dimps because after the fatal bullet success, i wouldnt expect them to produce a game as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as it is, perpaps the director of fatal bullet wasnt directing this SAO FD too idk... i'm just so dissapointed

FATAL BULLET and SAO versus AW are my two favorite games in the franchise. Fatal Bullet is just beautiful over all and was really fun to play. Aw vs SAO had one of the saddest stories that made me cry. Funny enough before I even knew the game existed I always thought about what would happen to Yui if kirito and them got old and stop showing up. How would she react or even know and that game gave me the most depressing answer and made me love Yui even more. Idc if people hate Kirito . Him and Asuna are the absolute best parents and Yui is just precious no matter how old she gets.

Games are connected to anime. If you didnt watch it or if you dont care about Sword Art anime then you wont like any of these games. Is as easy as that,

Not true. I don't care for the anime. It didn't hit with me. But I love the games.

Hollow Fragment is the closest thing to a non-mmorpg FFXI were going to get, even improving upon the combat system of XI by adding a dash and action combat rules like iframes.

Hollow Realization is the game and gameplay I wish FFXIV was. FFXIV is too much a departure from FFXI and too much like WoW for my liking, but Hollow Fragment captures that, "what if we updated FFXI without also killing it."

Alicization improves upon the pseudo mmorpg formula even more and Last Recollection is more of that same and fun.

Lost Song, Accel World vs., Fatal Bullet, & Fractured Daydream are more like Phantasy Star Online (Not PSO2 or New Gen.). We don't get simple, fun dungeon crawlers with deliberate, action-rpg combat that often and they each improve on one another in some way while remaining unique and fun to go back too for their own reason.

I think all of these games are fun, well made games that didn't forget down the AAA wormhole what a video game is supposed to be and the feelings it's supposed to make people feel.

A tip if you find yourself getting destroyed and hating Fatal Bullet - trying to play it like a shooting game is a bad time. It is an rpg game with guns and it has an action-rpg combat system, not so much a point-click system typical of FPS or TPS.

Fatal Bullet for "Single player randomness"
Accel World for "plot" (which isn't much, but best amongst trash is still best) (biased. I hate SAO's standard plot but I like the setting and a few characters)
This if you want to play with others.

Also if you, the OP is reading this. Do not highlight the spoiler.

I get the fact that most people already know the plot but OP said "he wants to try one" so it means he doesn't know anything yet.

So I'm pretty sure this counts as spoiler terittory.

Fatal Bullet hands down was and IS the best SAO game they ever made look how this game was inspired it literally so many things they adapted from that game is in this one.
this is the best since its going the granblue route outside of making a CAC
I never watch this anime when I bought this game.
I just want to play fun-to-play game.
This game is fun but playing on same map over and over it f..king boring. It was like Granblue Fantasy Relink. (I also have no clue what is Granblue)
I like Hollow Realization. I played over 100 hours on PS4 and still know nothing about SAO. I skipped all the dialog. Just bought for my brother and play with him. It was really fun.
Also bought Fatal Bullet for my brother but never play with him.

I suggested to play Hollow Realization.

After playing this game almost 100 hours I decide to watch this anime because I see it on YouTube anime channel.
It's really hard, especially for not a fan (yet) of SAO series.
Each game have slightly different gameplay, and just like other 'sub-culture anime' games, it's all B class games.
If you like SAO characters and story, you can compensate some wrongly designed gameplay.
In other words... don't except quality of A & AAA games. Don't expect gacha games' razor edge equation design.

All SAO games share: feels like playing multiplayer game a bit (collegues talks to you in action pretty frequently)
RPG style games: Re:Hollow Fragment, Lost Song, Hollow Realization, Alicization Lycoris, Last Recollection
Third Person Shooter (loot shooter design with RPG progression): Fatal Bullet

I'd recommend Fatal Bullet for who likes shooters more than RPG games. For storytelling, Fatal Bullet is most independent to former series also. For opposite audiences, I'd recommend Hollow Realization.
'SAO Gameverse' is different storyline from SAO novel/anime/FracturedDaydream, and there are various gameverse original characters, and different storyline. If you are a person who enjoys story more than gameplay, then you'd want to start from Re:Hollow Fragment.

When they are on sale, older games except Last Recollection will be dirt cheap. For Last Recollection, it needs more time to be more cheaper, or grab a console version used game.

There are two games I didn't mentioned: Infinite something that is actually succeeded by (Re:)Hollow Fragment, and Accel World vs SAO. Former one is just outdated, and later one is... I think it's safe to just ignore that.
Anyone except this one.
