I would say wait. The content is extremely limited right now. This takes nothing away from the developers in any way as the game is enjoyable however extremely limited as for content. I do believe with support and donations to perhaps hire more developers or a team to help forward the game a bit more would be beneficial. This i say in fact due to the fact that after only 3 days (maybe a total of 9 hours game time) I am already self sustaining. I have 4 and working on 2 more large farm plots, 3 water collectors, enough food to have 4 AI working around the base (IF ai existed) if not I could easily have 4 more persons play with me in which case I would have a farm , plenty of water and resources to outlast any horde which I already do. This is on normal game settings, no hacks cheats or givens. My hope is that they add some things to solo game play that they have added on multiplayer maps including TADA another map.

It sounds like you’re objective driven also. To be honest I play this game as a nostalgic chill. It’s cozy putting on night of the dead dvd in game and watching the zeds outside your window. Can be eerily creepy.

You can add more zeds, make them hit harder and detect you further in the settings.

adjust your settings, play with people or do some pvp, idk man, playing on base settings, which anyone can agree is babymode, and then making a post about it like this telling new potential players to wait is just a bad take.

we need more people playing to help the devs. Sometimes its not as easy as hiring more help, sometimes the help is us players giving feedback.
This game has big things in store, just be patient and stop daydreaming about knowing whats best for the game/devs lmao, wild perspective.

If you have to really deliberate over picking up a free demo and giving it a shot then there is something fundamentally wrong with you as an apparent "Gamer". It costs nothing currently. FML.

As a Demo and with only two people developing it i think its pretty damn good.. just over 44 hrs in it so far, yes there are issues, but its a project and its nowhere near being finished, however its getting updates and what we can do is report issues while its in demo mode, yes its not complete. But i as a FREE DEMO you need this in your library!!
