Can't play anymore.

I know it's a demo and early access. I have been having a lot of fun playing it and there are some bugs and some other issues but I'm not here to complain. I really haven't let the FPS drops or the lags ruin my fun.
Now however I just can't play. I'm getting 20-45 second lag spikes like one after another. It's just become unplayable. I know that someone said zombie bodies not despawning is causing it. I'm not gonna go look for every zombie I've killed to destroy the corpse. My game is littered with them LOL. If it's not the zombies corpses, and I never drop stuff on the ground, let me know and I'll try whatever to fix it. I've already restarted the game and my PC. I've also verified files. Otherwise I'm just gonna wait and play when they come up with a solution.
In case a dev sees this. I'm watching my stats when it happens and it's like the game just stops. CPU and GPU just drops to almost nothing. The last time it Crashed and I got a "send crash report thingy. When that happened I noticed disk usage after I hit send and restart hit 100% on that drive and it didn't restart. I had to stop it thru task manager. Hope that helps.
Great game tho. I'm really gonna miss playing it.

It is not zombie bodies. Zombie bodies cause as much performance hit as grass

It sounds like an autosave issue. If you disable autosaves does it still happen? I think maybe the game is taking a long time to collect everything for a save game.

Maybe but it's happening way more often than it would be autosaving. But I'll give it a try.

It's not an Auto Save issue. This started for me right after the latest STEAM update a few days ago. Previously I was running over 200 FPS, now it's just over 100 FPS, and screen freeze is constant. This is a great game and fun to play. I do hope the DEVs resolve this issue soon.

The point being that even with a high FPS the screen still locks constantly. It occurs too frequently to be a Save issue. Earlier last week it was working fine, but since the STEAM update for the game the issue has been occurring.

Thanks, I didn't even know steam had an update. That probably has a lot to do with it.
I'm watching my PC stats live as I play and when the lag happens, every thing just stops, CPU usage drops to almost idle, GPU usage to zero and Disk activity to zero, %Then it just starts back up again. It's like the game just stops doing anything for half a minute.

Also, I've been starting the game with the DirectX11 option when the screen freeze occurs. Someone I saw streaming online stated that they use the first regular option to start the game and this resolved the screen locking issue. I will try when I get a chance.

This is what I've found so far:

Trying to start the game in Demo, Vulken, or DX11 mode with a Saved game from prior to the STEAM update, causes the screen to lock. I can't work around a Saved game. However, I've started a new game using DX11 and it has run without the screen locking issue for ten minutes so far. I saved the new game and will try running using the saved game to see if the screen freezing issue returns. One indicator of the issue has been when I try to save the game the screen locks right away, otherwise, it occurs every two to three minutes, if not more. Will update after testing my new game save.

The new game save works without issue so far. I've been in the game using the new saved game for over ten minutes without any screen freezing issues. Yes, I can play my current favorite game again.

If you are stuck and you can not jump out of your stuck position, you may need to start a new game. Let us know if this works for you.

I loaded a save from a couple of days ago and it works alright with the just the tiny lags that have been there for a while. Not sure what happened but it seemed to happen when I was scrapping everything including kitchen cabs and stoves. A new game runs with no lag or stuttering. There must be something in the game that when you have too long, too big, or have too much stuff is causing problems.

Keep playing and see if the issue repeats. I'll be running my new game to see if it repeats for me. Thank you for the feedback.

just fyi, I heard on a vid that too much stuff in your UC causes the lag. I just dismantled and dropped or moved stuff to vehicles and regular storage. I'll let ya know if it helps any.
