Probably not - if modders need XR plugins enabled I can do that with pleasure but other than that no

What about as a DLC if the game succeeds?

I'm gennerally all in favor for VR games.. But it really has to be built with VR in mind to be a good VR game.
Just look at skyrim. VR was added in afterwards. Sure it's dope walking around skyrim but everything else about the experience sucks :P

The mods prove that it can be done well, and FPS's like this are generally the easiest to port to VR.

This way, the dev could also expect a profit from people who already bought the game.

Im a big fan of VR, But i also understand its more work and the ukpeep/Maintenenace of constant VR issues is offputting for Devs, its completely understandable.

VR has a lot off issues generally which means a ton of support is required.
I cant name one game that added VR and it made a HUGE difference.

Well, i guess it comes down to engine limitations though. What bugged me with Skyrim VR was that there's no weapon physics. To my knowledge, there's no mod that remedied that. And no, boob&butt physics didn't really showcase that it was possible to get weapon physics into the game xD

Even though this is an FPS, a lot of the fighting is done melee which would require all that physics stuff to feel good. Firearms would require the manipulation you'd expect.

Porting a game into something it wasn't supposed to be can come with a multitude of issues and no matter how amazing some modders are, they still have to work in what's possible within the engine.
I've seen multiple scenarios where devs have agreed to the cries of the potential buyers and spent years rewriting their whole game more or less. Sometimes adding more features can be the least profitable you can do. I'm a VR user myself, but i know VR is also a relatively small crowd of people. I think a bit less than 2% of steam users have a VR headset. Now, even if this game becomes game of the year i doubt they'd even close to all those users. Some of them don't like FPS. Some don't like zombies etc.

Have you played Skyrim before? You sure had some high expectations for a VR port of a game that released when I was in highschool.

Your expectations seem outta whack, but you're right, it's a matter of engine limitations.

So on the off-chance that's not the issue, I just wanted to remind the dev they could turn a profit off of it. It doesn't have to immediately have physics based interactions, they could add that in later if possible.

Oh yeah. Heck, i even started with TES Arena when i was a kid. Skyrim was an instant buy as soon as it dropped :P But yeah i know it's a dated game and i'm not totally hating on it's VR. But i did expect better from a huge company taking new game price for a port.
For me, realism and immersion is among the higher things on the list of importance in VR. Physics are a large part of that.

But yeah. If VR happens to become a talking point for this game in later development, i'm certainly not complaining. I just think that the dev hours might be better spent elsewhere, especially at this stage of development. They're just two guys after all and implementing a good VR base would delay the project, possibly by years depending on their experience, the engine etc.
Have you heard of Riftbreaker? If not: It's a single player game that launched with no thoughts about MP. The crowd cried for MP (Me included) and they said yes. I think they started working on it about when it was released 4 years ago. Their MP version is now in closed beta.
