To make things worse, like you said, it doesn't appear I got a relationship boost with that settlement either
Yea, currently you're punished if you don't aid them (relation loss) and you're punished if you do aid them (giant waste of time, no relationship gain, no payment/gifts, nothing)
A feature like this shouldn't even be in the game until it's working and balanced.
I have 2 two full plate mace armies with stun abilities in my towns, defending it from a threatened attack that just simply never happened (if I threaten attacks that dont happen, the AI is RUTHLESS in slandering and mocking me btw)- while some random 18 stack plate raider group spawned in my main city, just absolutely burning it to the ground, killing my lords etc.
So... yeah is the dev gonna do something about it or is the game "finished" now, after they baited enough Youtube audiences into buying it?
Absolutely. It's funny seeing this thread pop up again. Since I posted it I learned the time commitment of sending an army to defend a rebellion. It's actually quite doable, and like you mentioned there is options like sending a knight to lead an army.
It was really just an early frustration when I didn't know what I was doing. I actually don't think it needs to be re balanced but it's definitely a 'noob trap'.
