villigers might be to happy to join. (and fanatics require a blessing of ur lord by the bishop)
prisioners always join but are unskilled.
mercs cost a lot of cash. (warrior tax is calculated by combat skill at point of hire)
The next option is buying prisoners from Bandits, or the other camp events where you pay money to recruit bandits. Both options give a -7 relations to church and neighbors.
Or with the army you do have, you take out some bandit camps and hopefully take home some prisoners from it. Then recruit them into the army.
You will also get immigration events from wars or famine, which can be a great chance to fill out your armies numbers because your better off recruiting them for the army instead of them turning criminal.
If you mean an already formed squad, I am not sure that can be done. I tend to disband and recreate them when I want to add more soldiers.
Better to be a little careful with this one. Bandits taken as prisoner, then recruited into the army, have a permanent mood penalty, which makes them worse fighters (lower morale) and more likely to refuse orders to patrol during peacetime, or even desert and leave you entirely.
