Suggestion: King Should Be Able To Appoint Heir From Deathbed
I really don't like the way things play out the older in age the King becomes.

Slowly but surely the Heir to the thrown begins to hate the king, even if the heir is the king's own child, to the point that by the time the king is on their deathbed the heir considers the king a Moral Enemy.

I've also seen this when the Queen is the heir. One time it was so bad that by the time the king was 86 years in age the Queen Murdered him for the crown.

This to me makes no sense and I've seen it quite a few times now to understand that this is the way it is, no matter who the Heir is.

I don't care for this aspect of play/game mechanic. To have one's own child consider them a Moral Enemy simply because they are the Heir to the Crown while not showing any sorrow at all for that fact that their parent is dying is just strange; especially when the Heir had a high relationship with the king throughout their childhood before they were chosen as Heir.

Instead, I suggest allowing the King the ability to appoint an heir from their Deathbed. This way, the whole 'slow roll to Mortal Enemy Status' from the king's own child or spouse can be avoided.

Also, if the player changes their mind on who they want as Heir by the time the King is dying, then the player has the option of changing who the Heir to the Crown is.

Situations change over time and by the time the king is dying I have a much clearer idea of who I'd like to be heir for a myriad of reasons. Not having the option is frustrating.

Right now my current king is dying and I wanted him appoint his wife as Heir since she has been more loyal to him than any of his sons. However, I'm not able to since he no longer has the ability to walk. It's just unfortunate that once a character is immobile that the action of appointing an Heir/changing your mind on who the Heir will be is Impossible.

Just my .02 ;)
