Turn a warrior into a peasant?

Is there a way to reliably do this? When I hit the little red - in the army screen, they always immediately leave the settlement.

You can try to pay your serfs better wages but general as far as I can tell it's a RNG roll if they go back to working as a serf or just leaving.

Generally you don't want to turn warriors into peasents though...If you have too many warriors just decrease them through Forlorn Hope style battles.

Thats how I get rid of non-Kaiden warriors I dont want.

Some of them may Die....but that is a risk Im willing to take.
