Chancellery & Sharp-Tongued Trait
What am I missing here? It says it will *eliminate the need for paper*. Yet I am still constantly requiring paper to use the chancellery. Is this a bug? Or is the text just... inaccurate? The trait as is now seems completely useless.

It says you need paper to "charge" the chancellery, so I thought maybe getting 5 paper would be enough because it was telling me to charge it with 1 and then 2 and then 4 pieces (as I added more instructions the paper went up). So I removed the instructions, except 1, and kept the single paper. It never charged it.

Please explain either what I'm doing wrong to get this trait to work -- or if you're also havin' issues like me it might be a bug. :'3

The skill only kicks in at 14 (or 15) management skill which the character is only likely to reach just before they die of old age.

it's 15. and you can start the game with characters at 15 skill, I do that a lot. For example 15 in trade at the start will help ensure good trades with caravan and neighbours. You can drop all the other stats down to 2-3 points to ensure the character is still in their 20s.

Not great if you need to min max to do it though.

But, when you start the game.. they have those traits. My king, for example, starts with the diplomat trait. Leveling it up to 15 says an "undisclosed" trait. The same thing for Sharp-tongued. The king's brother already has it. The king can use his diplomat trait right off the bat, because he has it. The king's brother, despite having the sharp-tongued trait, can't use it.

I'm just not sure what I'm missing because it seems odd that supposedly sharp-tongued is not usable but diplomat, charismatic, forecaster, enlightener, and insighttful are all usable?

Undisclosed trait means that the trait is not active. Undisclosed are only active when the relevant skills are at least 15.

Having a good teacher (and you can use guests and the bishop as tutors) helps a lot, but yeah, reaching 15 is not so simple, even if you specialize most characters won't get to that level before they are middle aged.

Reading skill books helps a lot though
