But this game looks like its sitting between Rimworld and Songs of Syx in terms of scale. So it makes sense to a degree.
I like Songs of Syx but wished it would make some things a bit easier in terms of building stuff and expanding.
So, maybe this is the best of both worlds. Lets see.
Yes it will come, but its basically the last thing they add.
I also got tired of it very quickly in SoS, it was interesting for your first buildings, but when you're just trying to make your 10th giant workshop it's a pain in the ass, building a new layout for every new tech, and every new building is also a pain in the ass.
It works for Rimworld because we don't need whole buildings with different furnitures & benches to work, one bench does it all, so you can place anywhere and it will work, but buildings like forges, requiring anvils, heat sources, tables, etc... Are a pain in the ass.
by free build i mean placing each block and each roof to make you own style of buildings
this seems to have pre made buildings you place
However, for some key buildings i like that.
Like building your own Townhall, a Temple/Church or sometimes even a farm but especially Taverns.
Less so for the 40th living quarter or the 10th kitchen or the 100th storage.
I personally hope, that some of these key buildings (Townhall and such) receive at least some customizations.
Like, let me create it in a modular way so the shape is different or let me place rooms in my individual way and then maybe customize the interior a bit (what colours etc.).
That would be fun enough without having me to place every piece of wall individually.
But for example let me decide how a house is generally organized and shaped and maybe let me fuse houses together.
I want to build my house like in rimworld
This one is more like Tropico in that respect. The focus is on buildings instead as the minimum unit.
If Tropico can be deep, there's no reason a furniture-centric design is the only source of depth possible. Just a lot of saved dev time due to different priorities.
