LOL, no!! Torturous desire is a desire that killing you inside, possibly because you keep ignoring it. You can see what's their desire on first tab of their profile. It could be desire for rewards, desire for hunt, desire for meeting someone they loved, desire to eat meat, etc.. Try to fulfill their desire and it'll be gone :)
