Trees
I had a huge City with a robust eco

Then all tress where cut ...dont have to tell you how the domino effect started

Maybe a tip to let the forrest regrow faster or make a building for foresters to lay seeds that grow into trees

The trick i found out while playing on Crystallia. Build multiple camps instead of upgrading one and spread them over map. You kinda wanna slow down their work so the forest has time to grow since the more trees around, the more new trees will appear (if there is space for them).

Per the in game tips you do not want to deforest one area. The in game tips say that the more trees are in an area the faster they will regrow. I tend to hit one area with fully upgraded logging cabins for a few days then switch the workers to another I only run two fully upgraded cabins at a time and have plenty of wood. I keep deforestation at 20%

I like the idea of a forester every other game like this has them. seem 's like the devs wanted to bottle neck progress with iron and wood. But if you follow what I said in the other post wood should not be an issue.

yea i guess you're supposed to limit yourself from harvesting, but the game demands a certain pace to keep up especially at the beginning when everything is least efficient, so idk what the real expectations are, unless you're really good at norland already, lumber is gonna be the game ending feature, sorta cringe.

less restrictions if youwant to have a lumberjack trading city it needs to be possible lol

What helps a lot with wood management are those Varn ("Correct cutting", "Fertilize correctly") and Tanaya technologies ("Wood. Economical construction"). These are the first ones I always try to research due to wood becoming a problem rather sooner than later.

With these technologies refreshing a Rutabaga field costs only 7 wood instead of 20 for example. That is a massive difference. Building a new church costs 105 wood instead of 150.

And thanks to "Correct cutting" trees yield twice as much wood. That makes wood quite manageable on heavily forested maps.

I spent the first half of the game clear cutting my forest with 3 level 5 lumberyards. The second I got the notification that my fertilisation was suffering I disabled all 3 and let the forest regrow over 2-3 hours of real life time while trading with 3 nations to augment my wood intake. By that time most of my construction was done and I only needed the resources for my farms and the supply was tight but never came up short for more then a few minutes. When the trees started regrowing around my city I enabled the lumber sites for 5 minutes IRL time and had like 700 wood, disabled them again. Never ran out of wood.

As long as you don't waste wood heavily at the start, you should be fine

I had that issue as well, plus lack of wolves. I have to travel to other settlements to satisfy their need for hunting wolves.
