what happens when there is no more iron to mine? will my province eventually run out of iron entirely?

also what happens to wood that is cut down by masons? does it grow back eventually?

I think the mine is done and cant be work on anymore, but i personally haven't got to that point yet. You would have to relay on trade/tribute for iron after that. There's also modifier to up iron reserves in the settings when starting a game.

Trees do grow back but pretty slowly. Also keep in mind that lowering the tree count will eventually lower the field fertilization on the map.

wood regrows, as long as theres some trees left neerby, and iron can be exhausted, and after that you can only get it by trading

The iron is always too less. I start buying iron as eraly as possible from the caravan.. It is much cheaper, when you buy it from other lords.

Always set your first tribute as iron, really helps in the long run.

There is a setting I like to use before you start the game that makes the iron mine extra abundant.

maybe get iron+wood as ur village tribute
i think they allow 200 iron each mine level. and they dont accumulate?
so its best to mine first 200 with 1 worker and then upgrade to tier 2 mine?

Iron + mine sets you up long term because both are resources you could never have too much of, Wood fertilizes the fields so theres always this constant demand of wood, along with paper production.

You might not need that much wood mid-late game, but it atleast allows the forest to grow when you eventually stop logging to avoid hurting your own soil fertility

Once your kingdom starts to get pretty large. Trading for iron isn't that bad. By the time you have all the buildings you'll be out of iron, but hopefully you will have trade production going out for various things and plenty of money to buy all the iron you need.
