Lords stuck on fatal fatigue
Has anyone else run into an issue where lords seemingly refuse to drink alcohol?

My hall is stocked with beer and flavourful ale, none of my lords are immobile, and none of them are restricted from drinking alcohol.

Two of them have been stuck on fatal fatigue for a while now, and the drink action in their queue is greyed out and just says they can't drink right now.

The AI seems to break at least once a game. I've had a similar issue with Piety even after I built 3 temples. And another game, my lords refused to do inspections without me manually clicking the pointy finger over and over. Honestly love the game but, the micro is bit too much right now. The burnout is real.

They won't take time to drink if they are too busy. Still possible its a bug, but remove some of their responsibilities and see if they correct themselves. Had it happen once when I replaced a lord who died with a less skilled lord, ended up wanting to work himself to death instead of taking care of himself.

The prioritization and scheduling is bizarre in itself. Lords will only inspect during work hours, but will educate & learn until they faint. What's worse is educate takes highest priority for some reason. So they will educate instead of inspecting during work hours. Obviously the work around is cancel educate until inspections are done, but having to do that everyday is just obnoxious micro. Needs a fix sooner than later.

I have had this happen frequently, but it always resolves itself within a day or so. I think the game limits lords from drinking more than once a day. They can do other things to refill rest (playing dice and other farting around) but it seems you only get 1 drink a day and until that magic 1 day passes you can't tell them to go drink again and it'll remain grayed out. This is just my observation, so it might be wrong. But my lords always do eventually go and get that drink, it just takes a while.

Yeah I think this turned out to be the issue. It seems to have resolved itself, but it would make sense that my lords were trying to drink, getting interrupted by something, then refusing to drink again.

I didn't realize dice restored rest though, so that's good to know.

Check the Dynasty Tab to see if any of your Lords are prohibited from Consuming Alcohol.

If so, just click to the red-x and clear it to allow them to Drink/Consume Alcohol.

Hope this Helps. :)

Glad it worked out. They can also restore rest through any of the silly little things they do in the hall when they are not given a specific task to complete ("reading poetry," "contemplating the future" or whatever). But it's slower than booze and you can't order them to do it, it's only done autonomously. Cancelling all their ongoing tasks will allow them to decide to do these things autonomously and get some rest back, if their mood is really dire and it isn't beer o'clock yet.

Is it a bug when they won't sleep at all? My lords will literally stay up 24 hours until they pass out. Once work is done and i have already maxed the books i currently have. So they dont have to read. Idk why they never sleep. My main will stay in the hall and talk and eat and if I try to make him sleep he goes lay down for 2 seconds then gets back up. Only to be carried to bed when he faints. I've reloaded and my king doesn't have much responsibilities anymore besides socialize and war times. Which I'm Varn faith so it's not that often
