Requesting ship designs
Greetings! We are hoping to add new starships and space station designs to the base game, and we need your help. We want brand new players to experience the variety and creativity you have shown within our ship editor. We need all kinds of designs - small and large, combat, industry, stations, everything. The more variety we can add to the base game, the better.

If you’ve made a ship or station design that you are proud of, and would like us to consider including it in the base game, there are several ways you can send it to us:

1. Email the .ship file to starship@introversion.co.uk.
To save a .ship file, first export the ship from the game, then look in the save folder:
- Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Introversion\LastStarship\ships\ 
- Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/LastStarship/ships/ 

You can also just send us a link to your workshop item on Steam, either by email or by replying to this thread.

in Creative Mode, please add Hover info when spawning equipment. kinda difficult to design ships when people forget what each item is used for. ie : i haven't played in awhile and forget what's what.
Moved from the JMC-II to the JMC-III. Still probably overengineered but fun to work on and use.

It's nothing too special, I just wanted to build a relatively self-sufficient station. Took some inspiration from the stations found in the FTL Captain's Edition mod.

I like the ISS style appearance. Looks very manual and involves lots of walking around, probably quite crew intensive? However as I’ve said elsewhere, some parts of automation seem to be overrated at the moment, you may find your ship pumps out the goods faster than my over engineered automated ships like the JMC-III, or at least in some areas.

Perseverance Class Explorer Mark 3
An exploration ship designed for completely independent operations. The Mark 3 is outfitted with redundancies in most major systems and the ability to manufacture replacement parts out of local resources. This ship is equipped with a sufficient amount of armament to make pirates think twice, and a fuel manufacturing plant that can bootstrap itself to full production off of solar when you run out. This ship is built for adventure! Because space is dangerous, and you're on your own on the frontier.

Reasonable ships I've made...
(That is to say, not USS Constitution In Space and not competition ships, although I might propose that if I fix the name on the export.)

I also think they're both demos of exciting things you can do with crates, if you're looking for those. The price points are both $4-5M.

Devastator: A super tight autoloading cannon ship using crates and robot arms to do autoloading from a central magazine.

Vulture: A fleet salvage and industrial logistics ship with a small number of expansion points.

The Vulture might be less reasonable than I think it is, though, because the automatic sorting and industry verges on spaghetti. On the other hand, the Devastator is IMO a fantastic combat ship. (It probably can't quite compete with the Dragonfly, but that's the sort of thing to compare it against.)
Here's the current state of my all-in-one starship, Star Blazer. It's big, it's ugly, but it works and fights beautifully. Use it as a battle platform, galactic semi-truck, manufacturing plant, salvaging ship or passenger transport, it can deliver it all.

It's a constant work in progress based on the improvements in the game.
