Also, because of the higher price it seems like sales are low (not very many reviews) - so will they keep supporting it, hard to know.
The demo does seem good, but this might be a wait and see.
What there is of the game looks all right. It all depends on what you are getting for your money. I was expecting it to be more in the £10 to £15 area. I guess they are asking more because they think they are known for other games. It's a bit like paying more because it has a label.
I see the potential in the game. I bought it and am going along for the ride.
Okay, but they should be asking this price at launch and not for what sounds to be a demo.
You want backing and feedback? Then give some incentive.
Someone has just mentioned Plan B, that game is a fantastic title for £7 with a ton of content.
If it was being sold too cheaply, the developers would be losing out on a lot of money since these players already bought the game at a big discount.
If they decided to sell it cheaply, then add in new stuff for an additional price, people would still complain.
This is a career for the devs, not a hobby. It’s basic business.
Thanks for mentioning Plan B, I'll have to give it a looksee.
This is why people are wary of EA titles that are expensive, their reasoning is that the dev's have no faith in their game and just want to recover their loses before it all goes pear-shaped.
I wish I had a penny for titles like that which I bought and are now deep in my rubbish pile.
With this title and it's price it will probably have a very small fan base with very little exposure.
It's done now and the dev's can't turn back the clock, but I think they made a grave error with the price.
Disregarding the price, the game looks really interesting, something like I have been looking for and I would have snatched it up regardless of content for £10/£15.
As a counterpoint, a price that is too high will also limit sales and therefore make you less money. An example from above is that "Plan B" is selling for about 1/3 the price of this, yet has about 5x the reviews, so likely has about 5x the sales.
5 * 1/3 = 5/3, so "Plan B" likely made more money, as well it probably is getting more visibility, which is also necessary for sales.
I really thing the sweet spot for this game would have been about 2/3 it's current price - a price that in my country is higher than prison architect -- introversion's most successful game.
If they do stick with the game and make it good, then they will likely overcome the steep price, but introversion has also abandoned games that have not sold well, so there may be some risk.
