Game Reset Bindings

I find it unpredictable as to when the game acknowledges my select+start keys. Does anybody else have this problem? I expect to be able to press START, continue holding it, and simply tap SELECT in order for the reset to register. Instead, the game requires that I tap START, then press SELECT and START at exactly the same time, in a short tap together.

EDIT: Just saw a thread that explains it is in fact back + start that triggers a restart. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow!

EDIT 2: I'm still struggling here. Back (left d-pad on xbox controller) + Start doesn't seem to do anything.
