Perhaps you could make the initiative phase simultaneous somehow. That would save two back and forth e-mails and turns while we choose initiative. We both choose it at the end of the turn, then the game figures it out and it becomes the turn of whoever wins.
Something to think about that would save a lot of PBEM turns.
One thing I as a user would recommend, very selfishly perhaps: Even if simul-sync play can't be prioritized over all other features right now, it really *must* be there when this leaves Early Access. The initiative & play phases are too short and choppy for async play to be enjoyable. Maybe it'd work for PanzerBlitz or something, but not Undaunted.
The game is brilliant, and I hope these things are coming soon.
And PBEM is like the Pony Express version of playing online.
I had a feeling before I bought the game that the developer was going to be very slow to put out updates, as that was his pattern before early access started. But I bought it anyway because I love the board game.
Now I just hope this developer kicks it into gear and starts to put out substantial updates.
i've never played this game and I know a lot of people here bought it based just on the board game but not me. if i'm going to spend 16 bucks i want a better quality product. and you know who you are but don't give me "what did you expect, it's EA". EA is a development niche to get your game out there so players can kick the tires and give you feed back THAT YOU RESPOND TO! i'm bit:ching this much because i wanted to buy this game but now I doubt i will as the support for this is the poorest i've seen in a long time.
To be fair, what exactly will the dev replying to those comments improve? He has already commented on each of those points before at some point. Repeating it every time someone brings it up again won't really help anyone. I would think you would prefer him to actually be working on the game than just replying to every repeated comment and criticism.
I will say that the game features list should specify very clearly that the multiplayer is play-by-email only, because at the moment it can be misleading. But it's understandable it might not be a priority when it was not planned from the start and is only being considered now due to player feedback.
Honestly especially not having bought it yet, save yourself the trouble and time and just find something else to play and check back in a few months if it is better by then.
I'm not defending anything apart from common sense and the truth. Mainly denouncing your narcisistic behaviour. You're free to comment the development of a game you haven't bought. I'm free to comment on your opinions and the unpleasant and unnecessarily antagonistic way you express them. If you don't want anyone to comment on what you write, keep it to yourself.
But, it is still very raw and needs a lot of work to bring it to a quality product. And so far the developer is extremely slow and very unresponsive.
