Is there a way to get out the wendigo cage please?

Yes, there is indeed a way out. You have to click on these animal skulls that happen to be attached to the cage. As far as I can see, someone from outside the cage can also help. Of course, time is short and it's sometimes difficult to find the skulls in time.
