[I'm Not Buying A Game Ever Again]

debra wilson was the last straw... how can I play something starring somebody who is a symbol for DEI and inorganic, forced diversity? I don't think I even have to remind you how big of a disaster the last game she had a role in was (SS: KTJL). At this point, her presence in each game has become a DEI statement, and don't even try to come up with the weak arguement that "all characters in DS are based on real actors" cause you know none of them has been overused as a diversity pawn as much as her, and all the games she's been in are, for some "strange" reason, less than memorable/decent or outright failures.

I could cut kojima some slack and just assume for a moment that he was just so desperate to fulfill his big Hollywood fantasies and doesn't understand the significance of the people he's associating with, nor is he really aware of the nuances of the current cultural crisis in western civilization, but... I just can't defend him this time. Big japanese companies have already shown small but solid proof that they are infected by the woke virus and it shows in the decline, sanitation, and out of character diversity of their modern products, mainly Slopware Enix and Crapcom (and if you don't see the woke in their modern games, you're just an unaware tourist). And don't even get me started on Konami, SH2 R was just as much of a soulless, misinterpreted, and corrupted travesty as I fully expected, reason why I've zero hype for the MGS3 demake, or any big new AAA game really.

But getting back to the topic and to finish, the inclusion of this actress for forced diversity (by the higher ups running this gig behind the scene, ofc) is the kind of the antithesis of what made Kojima's work so full of soul, as the organic, non-woke diversity of the characters from MGS is one of the things that made the series so memorable and which should be a paragon on how to implement diversity in any video game (black people, gay people, people of all nationalities... and guess what, none of it came off as woke, and this was decades ago, mind you).

tl;dr, Kojima fell off, he's wokejima now.

I still will play and revisit MGS games, as I still have to play the last 2 entries, Revengence and V, but as far as post-MGS Kojima goes, he's dead to me...

My problem is not really with her as a person, but the way she is obviously being used: as a token of representation. I'm going to speak for the great majority of people when I say her in game models are not particularly attractive... and that is precisely the point of her presence in each major game she's been in, the people running things behind the scenes want to normalize unattractive women in our culture (and I'm not even going to go in full details cause people here can't handle the truth). But just ask yourself, why would you put an aesthetically unappealing character in a multi-million game when you know it'll negatively affect your product when you could do the opposite to get positive results and potentially more sales and mind share? Why shoot yourself in the foot like that...? Just think about it...

And no, the homosexual characters of Metal Gear are by NO means woke (and if we want to split hairs here, we could argue they're not even part of the "community", but people here are not ready for that discussion either, and never will). They're not woke simply because homosexuality isn't the main focus or purpose of those characters, but rather a secondary complement to their overall personality (something they do backwards with modern fictional gay characters which is why they always come out so insipid, safe, generic, and unmemorable. Modern western media would never make a Volgin today, because he's an awful human being and that would be "bad representation"). Besides, as I mentioned, we all know Kojima wasn't trying to make a push for gay or racial representation with his diverse cast of characters back in the MGS days , no Japanese dev was. Kojima was just doing his thing (but now his "thing" has been compromised).

1. No one is trying to “normalize” unattractive women. Unattractive women ARE NORMAL. Go outside and shed some of that porn brain. Nothing wrong with attractive video game characters but frankly having everyone be superstar hot would kinda take me out of a game unless it were super campy (IE the first 3 MGS games).

2. Kojima owns his own studio. If anything, he was more likely “forced” to put diverse characters in his games when he worked for Konami. There is not some secret Hollywood cabal that goes around regulating wokeness in media - the guy made friends and wanted to put them in his games. Kojima has been like this for a while and to constantly assume that he is kow towing to perceived industry standards just comes off as paranoid. The game isn’t even out yet man, at least wait to play it before you cry woke.

I'm as anti-woke as it gets, the moment I hear a game has any involvement with the race grifters at Sweet Baby Inc., it joins the hundreds of DEIfied games on my Ignore list, and I have black-listed whole dev studios and even publishers for pushing leftist agendas. If you get woke, you won't be getting any of my money if I can avoid it.

Having said that, I'm not that familiar with Debra Wilson, and I haven't really played that many games where she had a bigger role than "Additional voices". Turns out she did play a character in Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and Addy in Days Gone, which is one of my all-time favorite games. Both times her performances were solid and didn't sour my enjoyment of the games. I haven't really played any other games with her in it after Days Gone, but that's mostly because the whole project was already woke garbage, like Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Marvel's Avengers, Forspoken, to name but a few.

Am I worried that DS2 will be bad because of her? Not really. She only shows up twice in the trailer, for a few seconds, and she isn't even named on the credits list, not even as a "Special Appearance". This makes it pretty clear that she has a very minor role in the game, and is only name-dropped in the trailer because she's somewhat famous due to her being at SNL.

I loved the first Death Stranding, played through it multiple times, even 100%'ed it and the Director's Cut version here on Steam, so I will most likely pre-order it as soon as it appears here. It would have been different if Kojima had decided to make Debra the main playable character, but that's not the case, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
