now as a Mexican i hate forced representation sometimes it's more insulting than representing (looking at you spitting Latino .TLOU2.....)
But in kojima's case, if we debate this, you have to admit that he had a lot of DEI even before this became a movement.
Incest, gay , bisexual, androgynous, butch ,lesbian, characters, then white, black,Asian, Latino (this one escapes me TBH) and this is only on MGS2
i even dare to say Fortune looked as a trans woman (at first i thought she was one)
my point is that TBH, there is no point in categorizing a kojima game, what matters is the gameplay.
just my 2c
Kojima might be 100k more relevant, but I assure you he won't be a
No, you got it wrong. "Diversity" and "DEI" aren't the same thing. As I explained before, I praised the diversity in Kojima's characters because it was organic, it obeyed the setting (and even boosted the historical/ political fiction at times), all done without ulterior motives or agenda (it's very difficult to find Japanese media that would include a certain group of people for tokenism's sake, at least that used to be the case). Basically, character's ethnicity generally made sense.
You can't call MGS woke games, it's not even a question. You seem to think that the appearance in MGS2 of the types of individuals you mentioned is something "woke." Back in the late 90s when MGS2 was being made, which do you think Kojima's priority was, including as many races of people as possible in his game or making a good game?
And sorry to hear that you fell that way about Fortune, she's one of my favorite characters, and I always found her highly attractive and interesting. Same as Olga, but I guess it's a matter of taste.
I don't care, if he can't read the room, it means he doesn't care enough. I mean, he's always been kind of a free spirit, but he carelessly involved himself with REAL LIFE politics this tine around, and he'll have to deal with the backlash, and I don't care if he made one my favorite franchises ever.
You cared enough to reply... And you bet I'll play another game.
Yeah obviously the guy who made the game is more 'relevant' than the people who play it, like what point are you trying to make? Or are you just mad?
and Debra Wilson is a talented actress since her Mad TV days lol so stfu
